His offensive numbers might not stand out in the AHL, but he has a bright future ahead.

Berggren, Danielson? We have some decent forward prospects. Also the future generational player (defense) is a wings prospect. Axel Sendin Pelika ... watch out for him.

So why is Larkin not a “franchise” Center?

While you guys might end up being right (since this isn’t an exact science), I’m incredibly glad Yzerman is in the seat and I trust his judgement over yours. Anyone ever consider that Yzerman may have done this cause Larkin may have bolted had he not committed to trying to win? Instead of tanking for another year, he went out and got Alex DeBrincat and Sprong for a song to address scoring. This dude knows what he’s doing. The NHL draft is a crap shoot at best and rigged at worst. The fact the Wings never got a top 3 pick while Chicago got one immediately (for a generational talent I might as) should tell you tanking for a high pick in Detroit isn’t worth it.

Not sure if a "franchise" player will be had in the upper rounds but it's not likely any time soon unless they get very very lucky. The highest He's gone for drafting is 4th overall..det draft lottery luck has been poo so I think he's going another route. I was suprised he went with no rookies what so ever but he's built a team that is going to compete for a playoff position. I think it needed to be done socially. I truely believe he is doing well and am not worried...he's building a team that will be competative long term.

Im definitely no expert but i think hes starting to get his game adjusted. He's got plenty potential to grow in to a complete pain in the ass type to play against. Yeah true enough another higher draft pick could help .. but really i think nows also the time to take a step for the club too . Its by no means over either . Theyre one shit show slide away from being out of the picture too .

Where do you guys feel like Danielson ceiling is? Could he compete for 2nd C? Could he develop into a 1C? 3C seems a bit low for his talent level.

Danielson is gonna be more impactful than Kasper. Kasper doesn't have the offensive upside
