Ten actually competed in B-boy competitions when he was younger, so, as you can see, he incorporated a lot of B-boy moves in "Birthday's" choreography. You can hear him talk about it in his behind the scenes videos and in interviews he has done for this project. And he also has a background in gymnastics. Ten is actually known for being one of the most flexible male idols in the Kpop industry, and there are even compilation videos showing Ten flexing his flexibility and WinWin and Ten competing to see who is more flexible, etc. (WinWin has trained in traditional Chinese dance since he was young and is super flexible as well.) If you check out Ten's 'Birthday' dance practice behind the scenes video and his behind the scenes of his MV shoot, you can see just how involved he was with this whole project. And as mentioned before, this dance was, at least in part, choreographed by him. Ten is often the one that creates or modifies the most memorable and dynamic parts of NCT/WayV's dances that he is a part of. Most choreographers say they present Ten with choreography and then he changes it and makes it even better. He is a very skilled choreographer as well, which he has shown off in several self-choreographed performances on NCT's KZfaq channels and as a member of SuperM, etc. (Which I think explains a little of his skill level.) I think why they emphasised his falsetto notes more and didn't "reverse it" like you said, is because Ten is an SM artist and SM is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry, so they like to highlight their artists' vocal abilities and techniques as much as possible to showcase what makes their artists stand out from all the rest. Everything SM does should make it clear why everyone, including their main dancers and rappers, spend so much time on vocal training. That's what makes them one of the top in the industry. I don't think if they had used Ten's "regular voice" more it would have been quite as notable or unique of a song, and it definitely wouldn't have had that SM quality. What you just witnessed is why Ten is considered one of the best in the industry. :D I'm just curious, do you think we can't read the captions? I just want to let you know that we can see and read the captions just fine, you don't need to read everything to us. I'm afraid this might sound rude -- which isn't my intention, so I apologize in advance -- but I really was wondering because the way you read the caption and then explain it to us, it's like you think we can't understand what they said. But just so you know, I think most of us have probably already watched this video ourselves and we understand what they are talking about, so you don't need to explain every sentence to us. (Sometimes it seems like you are explaining the English language to us and not just giving your opinion or adding your own thoughts.)

In martial arts, yoga asanas, and in every beautiful but powerful thing in nature, there is this thing about containing the gentleness inside the strength and the strength inside the gentleness. The principle behind why Ten's dance is great follows this same universal principle. Water is the softest thing but it carries great force thus the waves are both powerful and captivating. Ten's dance is like the Pacific waves during surfing season!🌊❤️

Ten actually bruised his back several times trying to do that move he said it himself in the dance practice behind video.

The one you heard during Ten’s recording was the “DEMO” version of the song. They always have this. some singer already recorded the song and they gave that to the artist so the Artist can listen to it for few days before they actually record. It’s more like a GUIDE 😊 but as you can see, there’s a lot of changes when they do the actual recording. But the finish product of the song doesn’t include the DEMO

ALSO I agree with your take on the “could this be more masculine”. I think that’s what makes this so IMMACULATE, seeing him express everything through dance with no inhibitions is what makes this SO attractive and captivating. (The fact he is perfect and beautiful is a bonus hahaha) but I agree this factor is what’s missing from western music… it has no substance.

i've been catching up with your old wayv/nct reactions and in this video i love how you mentioned he could be more masculine while dancing with the female dancers, but it doesn't need to be, and he doesn't... and for that i'd like to add, i think i saw a dance video compilation where they said Ten actually has this whole unique personal style where he dances "androgynously". he can make himself feminine or masculine or just plain fluid as and when required by the music he's dancing to. i think that's such a good way to describe his movements.

Yeah normally play the demo songs while recording and slowly the artist need to make his own style and voice and build the whole song according to how or what the artist, writters and producers agreed on.. Thats what i notice with EXO and NCT recordings.
