I agree. There have been more talented ones that ended up being better pros or put up better numbers, but Mariota was a weapon in every aspect and had such great control of the entire offense. Give him that 2019 LSU roster and he likely has 60 TDs and wins a national championship too. Plus he was elite every year compared to Cam and Joe Burrow just being elite for 1 year. Not to mention he tricked the entire country into think Mark Helfrich could coach

I was home for the summer about to start my sophomore year at U of O. Couldn't get a ride from La Pine to Eugene to see the game. I remember watching from home and just looking at my dad saying damn his decision making skills are gonna go a long ways.

What bums me out is we get 2 excellent Quarterbacks, as you correctly state -1 wins a Heisman, then we get a so-so QB who throws into coverage and is intercepted. Sometimes twice in the same game. Why are we going backwards?

man, i'm gonna miss watching him play. best QB in oregon history and, arguably, in college ever. i mean, 7 int's in his CAREER? over 10k yards? almost 60TDs in his last season alone and almost half were on foot? don't tell me he isnt the best. let's hope that we get a good replacement to tie us over until that start from michigan comes in

No... he isn't even close to being the greatest QB in college. You are just a stupid fanboy. Tebow was better then mariota in college. Shit colt Mccoy was better then mariota in college. He is a product of the system he plays in. He will be a BUST in the nfl. He will get injured and won't be able to outrun people or get away from people anymore.

Connor Smith Tebow has been crap, end of story. He had a good defense with the Broncos he only had to,make a throw or two to win the game Tebow was never genuinely good. All Tebow did was run the ball I'm college. He can't throw the ball accurately anyone who's watched him,play knows he Can't throw well. Tebow has had good defenses all through out his career they've kept him in the game and the defense failed he failed. For example the SEC championship between them and Alabama, Alabama was scoring and the defense couldn't stop them but Tebow couldn't do anything yes I know Alabama has a really good defense but Tebow should've been able to something if he's "the greatest QB in college" so really Tebow wasn't all that great in hind sight

I was there for his first game and his last. (And some in between of course). Shit was awesome having him be a Duck. Go Ducks! I think I even have a newspaper clipping of when they said he would finally start and they were questioning if he was even good.

My late brother and his wife were far from sports fans. In their thirties so not sticks in the mud at all. But anyway, while I lived at the Oregon coast with not too much, they would have me come visit so I could watch the Duck game and have a good dinner. Re: DeAnthony Thomas, I still smile big when I recall her voice as she squealed, "Look at him go! Look at him go!"

Imagine what Colt (9:14 & 11:50) could have been if he didn't have all the off the field issues. Watched him play at hillsboro in high school and the dude was a beast still. Reminds me of a Rob Gronkowski type of player. Easily could have been one of the best TE in the NFL imo

I've been an Oregon fan for a LONG time, and I personally think that Marcus Mariota is the best we've had in a WHILE. Hopefully he keeps his game up, and doesn't hurt his shoulder anymore this season. When he got slightly injured at the Oregon vs Cal game, Bryan Bennet proved to us why he is second on the depth chart. Hopefully we won't need Bennet during the OSU vs Oregon game.

Watched Marcus play ball @ St. Louis h.s, here in Hawaii, watched him win the Heisman @ Oregon. He had an okay stint in TN. But then he got dealt to OAK, ATL & now w/PHL. Such a disappointing end(?) after a skyrocket start. Given the Right OC/OS, #8 can Still Succeed/Excel!

A future NFL coach, Future Auburn Head coach (Arkansas state HC) Yeah he beat us but damn gotta acknowledge it, Future NFL 2nd overall pick and Heismen winner, NFL Drafted running back (KB) Another NFL drafted RB (DAT), WR drafted WR (Huff) and a high school coach who saved his school from a gunman, addison that still is in the NFL and many more players to name. This game is filled with great names of college football.
