Why Scott henderson is a total GENIUS and still doesn't get the fame he deserves...??? This kind of lenguage has never been heard in Blues, he calls himself a Blues guitarist but is FAR more than this. Scott Henderson is musically gifted.

he is marvelous, just much focus on music, less on famous. his music does not suit for stupid listener
@lory72113 жыл бұрын
@@calhoun5428 that's the point. But stupid listeners are the vast majority and this is not fair al all for Scott..

Actually it's for the best, if he were more popular the greedy money interests of the music industry would have tried to strangle his creativity to squeeze every time they could out of him. Being relatively in the shadows he had the freedom to be his own man

Scott Henderson can hear certain notes , that are impossible to distinguish by human ear & fits them perfectly in his playing !!! Genius , who is too often overlooked by Guitar Fraternity ! Simple Magic comes out from his fingers , body & his amazing Soul ! Maestro Henderson indeed ! ...

1:00:58 The Scott Henderson part is mindblowing. So much good taste, mixing blues and jazz, amazing musicians, the drummer /singer is out of this world, the bass player gathers all I love in a a bass part (in opposite to Marcus Miller's way of playing).

So Scott Henderson is "just a blues guitarist" - I've seen very few blues guitarists who can go outside like that, and bring a rhythm section like that. Sounds like a killer fusion guitarist to me. One of my favs.
@NILOCOgov Жыл бұрын
He has such a distinct voice on the instrument. Can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t hold him in very high regard.
@MauroHowe Жыл бұрын
Not "just a blues guitarist", buddy, but a profound connoisseur of electric guitar and musical harmony. His name is written in the history of the instrument of all times. His outside phrases are precised and of un unprecedent beauty. A virtuous master who left his remarkable legacy forever.

Glad to see Scott get out.., I’ve missed him.., was never sure what happened with him and Chick ?
@cjchristopher80923 жыл бұрын
Him and Chick didn't get along at all because of Chick's religious zealotry. He said he couldn't stand him and actually regretted ever talking the job. You can read about it on Scott's forum and an interview he did with Josh Smith on KZfaq.

@@cjchristopher8092 I heard Chick wanted to take 20% or 25% off the top of Return to Forever’s receipts to donate to the Church of Scientology and Lenny White had a BIG problem with that. “ Chick, give YOUR money to whom ever you wish, but MY money is MY money !” I was not in the room when or if this actually went down.., however I heard this story more than once.

@@phatbackbeat6553 That's wild. I'm not surprised though considering how Scott speaks about him. Scott's the nicest dude but he clearly found Chick's philosophies to be sketchy. Oh, well. I still love Chick's music.

At EXACTLY 3:54, Mr. Miller issues forth a most eloquent facial expression regarding his guitar player's choice of... nylon-string slide guitar (?) to improvise upon a Milesian classic. I am a slide guitarist me own sef, but if a bandleader looked at me like THAT I would "get normal" as quickly as possible. Yes, one CAN play jazz slide guitar; but that is not what's happening here. Surely the world would be a kinder place had piezo pickups never, ever reared their buzzy little heads..... if an asteroid snorked the dinosaurs, where's a meteorite strike when you need one...(?)
