Wow! This classic still does it to me anytime I'm fortunate to hear it being played. But Marcus Miller, the incomparable bassist, and the indomitable effervescence of David Sanborn's saxophone playing dexterity have succeeded in weaving together an intricate musical dynamic, most accomplished musicians often yearn for.

What ever your sound is,its you,you must make it appeal to others by your play and style,there will never be another Sanborn or you!

This tune as well as the rest of the tunes on Sanborn's CD "Upfront" are some his best recorded stuff. Marcus and Dave are a match made in heaven.

My friend, remember, you are physically different from David Sanborn, that will naturally mean you can't sound just like him, I feel your aingst. I love the Sanborn. You will find your sound, it might be that you get that sound on a different MPC? I'd love to try a Dukoff, though :-) Best to you, keep playing what you love!

@acdcgraphics You're damn right, dude. I would say 90% of your sound's characteristics come from you and your embochure and the way you play. the other 10% are a little help from your setup to achieve the exact sound you wish.

@wilburcolemanjr I actually prefer Sanborn's, it just sounds more funky, more soulish, more jazzy, better to me.

Bird would've loved Sanborn.....as would have The Brute......

Lets not compare ,different people & times and horns,Mr Sanborn does a fine rendition but i must agree with you,i like the King's better,lets enjoy both!
