I still can't believe this is actually happening. I've lived in North Wilkesboro all my life and I really didn't think we'd ever see Cup racing back at North Wilkesboro Speedway. I'm so excited, I really hope they make North Wilkesboro a permanent stop on the Cup series schedule after the All Star Race.

I hope they make this the permanent spot for the All Star event. It's close to Charlotte, it's at a historic track, the demand is through the roof, it's really lightning in a bottle and something this sport seriously needs.

If you're a racing fan weather you're young or old this is a must see event! I am in my 40s and I don't remember a race that I simply can't wait for more than this week of races. And it's not a point race. The attraction and lure of this legendary track is so beautiful and organic. I hope it goes perfect for the fans, drivers, pit crews, local town residents and nascar! I tip my cap and thank anyone and everyone that has made it possible

When I first called for reserved seating at Bristol in 89 was told it was probably a 4 year wait. I got my seats for the 92 season! Also attended several races at NW. Loved that track. I'm excited to see it having events. Although, the last race I went to there was during the Good Year/Hoosier tire war. Bodine had all but one car a lap down at the end to win.

This is going to be one of the best things that happened in nascar in a REALLY long time. All the NEW tracks on the schedule are great but bringing this track back and the demand for this race is really cool to see. And the concession prices! THAT is the coolest thing ever. What a great thing you guys are doing for stock car racing. Old school man! Dale Jr literally dug this track out of the weeds! Your influence and presence outside of the race car is an amazing thing. Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with next and cannot wait for this event. I hope the whole week is televised.

I honestly believe they're doing this right! They could go and add 20k extra seats and mess the whole weekend up but the extra 5k should be enough. Marcus has been doing some good stuff to hopefully help grow the sport again. I can't wait for the Alll Star race!!!!!

Wow! Just wow! We're going through the same growing pains at TCR Raceway in Washington State! Closed for 17 years. It's the last of the half-mile tri-ovals and the side by side super late model racing is incredible! We call it the mini Pocono. On our second year we had a 33 car main for this year's Fall Classic 125! Good luck to you all in North wilkesboro! 🏁👈😎👍

This is the greatest news that has come out of nascar in years. We need a revival of n. Wilksboro and rockingham ! These are the places that fans want to go and see . Not cookie cutter tracks . Bring back some of the old schedule and see the crowds come back ! ! !

Hey Russell I agree with your comments 💯 percent and I'm 72years old and a big time Nascar fan for 50years years plus ➕ and I've seen as many all star races as I was able to over the years

I live less than 5 miles away from TMS. I haven't been there in 3 years. Here's the reason why: When I attended KMS in 2015, there was a ton to do/see/experience prior to the race. When I moved to N. Texas and attended my first race at TMS in 2019, I was highly dissatisfied with the lack of things to do before the race. In 2015 at Kansas, it felt like a full blown carnival dedicated to Nascar and racing in general. In 2019 at TMS, you could shop at the midway, or eat...that's it. If you want fans back at the track, you need to bring back that full blown carnival atmosphere.

As a fan I love what's going on and the excitement. I like the late model races idea. I still have not heard one person even mention Junior Johnson in regards to this being his dream, or what a shame he's not here to see this. Dale has done a great job getting involved....but I keep feeling some tried, but have been forgotten.

It’s incredibly funny we the fans have been screaming for grass roots nascar for years. Thank god Marcus is giving us what we want but it’s hilarious the look on his face. We should have never left Wilkesboro nascar should have never left it’s roots and it’s funny to see the big wheels realize it.

This is the things that are healing the wounds from when Nascar removed North Wilkesboro from the schedule for me personally. I hope this effort progresses the possibility of rescheduling a points scoring race in the next 2 years from now.

If you want to go better start saving now. I read tickets were $300 for the 3 days.

Is there a drive-in theater in that area? PPV live at the drive-in and a hot rod show and shine with a mic and a camera roaming the party during the race. Yeah I would pay $6 for a gallon of diesel to be close to a party like that! And I am willing to bet that I'm not the only one. Hope the network/s are paying attention. NASCAR has always been a traveling circus and there are plenty of other small towns that could benefit from such an event. Wilkes is a great, deserving location to start a traveling tradition. T-shirt sales alone? A gold mine if managed properly. Good luck NASCAR.

If Dale Jr can make the snap decision to race his sportsman car at North Wilkesboro, can you imagine how many other Cup/Busch/Truck drivers he could rally to fill out the heat races?? I'm talking about old school guys - Andy Petrie, Dale Jarrett, Harry Gant, Red Farmer! What about Ryan Newman and all the Wallace boys - Rusty, Mike and Kenny? What about Schrader? Tony Stewart? The Labone brothers? Derrike Cope, Ron Hornaday, Sterling Marlin, Mike Skinner? What about Jeremy Mayfield and Kasey Kahne and Casey Mears and MARK MARTIN, the Burtons - all 4 of them (dads and sons), the Sadlers, Jack Sprague, Kevin Harvick, the Greene brothers... Talk about ALL-STARS week! Even current Cup guys like Brad Keselowski and Erik Jones who have sportsman cars available (Logano? Larson? KyBusch? Corey Lajoie?) I can see this whole sportsman races and heats satisfying the fans who can't get a ticket for Sunday because there's a once in a lifetime chance to see a bunch of old favorites out on the track again. Heck, ol' DW and Mikey, Gordon and Johnson, Bodines 1-2-3 all peppered throughout the fields - what fun!

How hard would it be to arrange a picture of Kevin, Kurt, and Jimmie in front of the Winston tower if they're all 3 at the track. They're the last drivers who raced in the Winston era. Phoenix this fall could be the last race run by anyone who did. If Richard, Richard, Joe, Roger, Jack, Gene, and Rick are there, get them, too. They're all in their 70s and 80s now and owned teams in the Winston era.

I think people need to understand oneeee thing. The infrastructure will be extremely overwhelmed. They need to literally prep roads IMMEDIATELY. I wanted to go to the race but I didn’t know when they’d even release tickets and I’m sure they probably sold out within minutes. Anyone know how much tickets even went for?

Was planning on going next year, but the prices for just 1 person r absolutely ridiculous. Not gonna spend $300+ for a ticket for myself and then an extra $600+ for my buddies’ tickets (I pay and they give me then money) when I can go to Watkins Glen for half that price for Sir Jackie Stewart Grandstand in T6 and watch ARCA, Xfinity, and Cup. Hell I can go to the IMSA race there for the Sahlen 6 hours at the Glen for even less than NASCAR for 2 races of Mazda MX5 Cup, Porsche Cup, and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, plus their practices and qualifying on Friday and Saturday, and then practice, qualifying and 4 hour race for Michelin Pilot Challenge and then practice, qualifying, and 6 hour race for the Weather Championship Friday, Saturday, and the 6 hour race on Sunday, and u can wonder the garage area and pit lane freely and there’s more to see honestly. Like anyone goin to North Wilkesboro next year, stay safe and have fun, but imma go enjoy my LMDh cars for way less the price.

This is a chance for Marcus to make his own legacy, but hes gotta keep pushing for short tracks and get away from these road courses especially the roval! That race has lost its steam and with the great race we seen in the world 600 I'd say bring back the oval

It's about time they Nascar goes back to where they came from and the roots of racing!! I sure hope the roots are deep enough that some newer generations can enjoy it the same as I have. They went away and prices the fans out of the sport seems like for 20 years and it's finally caught up to them with low attendance and too many rules!! I wish the cars didn't look like crap with the numbers moved forward and stupid looking low profile tires!! Wouldn't it be cool to bring back the old school bodies and paint schemes for this race!!!; Like maybe 1970 era bodies on this new generation car with the original paint schemes!!!!!???????

No stage races aren't like heat races at all. They need to go to a dirt format in nascar with heat races and b-MAINS or lcq races. This will give the smaller teams a better chance at a good starting spots and keep the fans into it because it's hard racing the whole time to qualify in

I hear Jr. saying this is great. I would suggest getting out and talking to normal people about these pricey packages. Normal families can’t afford to spend $300-$400 for tickets nor does everyone want to go to all three races. I guarantee NASCAR gets serious pushback on this and eventually doesn’t come back again. If you have never been to North Wilkesboro you truly don’t know the experience you can have but from what I’m reading, from different sources, there is a great deal of pushback on the way tickets are being packaged. I like the way the bathrooms once were. The mens urinals were just a long trough. It was definitely a not being shy kind of thing. This guy is making it sound good but do your homework and you’ll see just how difficult it will be for the normal person. From what I’ve been told by some Wilkes County residents they also are able to get tickets before the general public. It is going to be a sh*t show and we won’t know how bad until next year.

I did not buy my 1999 Bristol Night Race tickets. It was 2004 before I could get a ticket to that event. After they wrecked the banking they cannot GIVE away tickets.

I've been watching NASCAR for a little over 40 years and although I've never seen a street stock. modified, or late model race at North Wilkesboro I did watch plenty of Cup races (on TV) over the years that NASCAR still had the track on the schedule. Every single one was a snoozer. Now with the Next Gen car not being very good on short tracks, I don't have much hope for next year's all star race. I hope I'm proven wrong.

Bringing the race to north wilksboro is a great move but the pricing is not. With inflation a family of 4 cannot afford $1200. I had season tickets at texas for 20 years for $500 a ticket that was two full cup, truck and xfintty races plus an Indy weekend . To me one step forward with the track and one back with the pricing. Mark my words this event and other will be become pay per view as well

This guy is worth over 600 million. I think the current deal is rather lucrative for track owners lol.
