I saw the original vid and Mortuus already looked pissed even before that dude entered in the stage. He even kicked the mic stand, and he was looking at the left behind the amps (if I'm not mistaken) and it seemed like he was telling someone to f off. You have to be stupid or drunk af to try hugging someone who is performing and is clearly annoyed tbh.

* It was a Mortuus thing to do. Love this guy. The epitome of zero fucks and has been this way for decades. And this is a short segment, we dont what or if anything led up to him kicking. On the other hand...most all bm fans know that a Marduk show can have about 10 diff outcomes. Its a chance you take at a Marduk show. He has dove off stage in the crowd to go after people before...he simply doesnt like to be fucked with, and people know this and just do shit to see him go off because they know he will. Its like being up front at a GG Allin gig back in the day, there IS a risk. Its also the Marduk shtick and have been fairly successful doing it.

If I was the singer of Marduk, Sweden's premier black metal band, I probably would have thrown that dude back into the crowd too. It looked like the dude was hanging onto Mortuus and trying to put his arm around / across Mortuus's shoulders. I think if Mortuus doesn't want to be grabbed and hung on to by a stranger, it's his right to forcibly remove the guy from his person...

It was awesome. This was actually nothing compared to his past antics. Its not the first time he has had an issue with a cell phone pointed at him...there are things you dont like, there things I dont like....he historically hates cell phones lol, if youre up front at a Marduk show, know that Mortuus may kick you, take away or kick your cell phone, or he may dive in the crowd after someone.Mortuus must have been in a good mood. I can see it from both sides, I’m sure it’s frustrating as hell trying to perform with cameras constantly filming your every move on stage during the show, but that’s the current climate.. everyone films everything these days and that’s not going to change anytime soon. Smacking some guys phone out of his hand isn’t going to change anything in the long run.. it’s just going to make you look like a dick. If it’s THAT much of an issue for the bands, they can enforce a no cell phone rule, but those never work lol

I honestly used to be the guy that would take lots of pictures and record a couple songs but it wasn’t like the WHOLE show I would do that. But for a few years now If I want to record something I’d keep to a few clips. Otherwise I pocket my phone for the show because it’s a way better feeling in the moment type deal if you know what I mean. Some bands LOVE videos of them and some highly depose it. Nergal from behemoth posed for one of my camera shots before lol.

YESSSS!!! I'm a millennial, and I fucking can't stand when people have their phones out, staring through the screen during a LIVE SHOW. First off, it's fucking rude because it's distracting as hell and blocking the view for the other people there, but most importantly, you're at a live show for a reason. When you're staring through your screen, you're really just focusing on getting the angle right, thinking about how many stupid 'likes' you're hoping to get on social media, and missing the entire experience. There are few things as cathartic and liberating than being at a live show where you're sharing a connection with the band, giving and feeding off the energy of the other fans, and it's one of the extremely rare occasions where you can let all social expectations, pretenses, and inhibitions fall away as you move to the music in whatever way feels natural to you, cheer and scream--without judgment. You can stare at your phone all day long at home, so what is the point of going out to see the real thing, if you're not actually going to experience the real thing??? Might as well save your money and just stay home and watch a video of the performance, because that's what you're doing anyway. You simply can't get the experience when looking through your phone. Live in the moment, just for a couple of hours. I promise you it's so incredibly worth it.

Not beat the hell out of your supporters. Though if that same person was trying to shove Christian things down Mortuus Daniel Rosten's throat or something then Mortuus's aggressive behavior would've been totally acceptable and justified. I would've supported that aggression 100%. As Christians do need a taste of their own medicine in this world for how poorly and aggressively they treated people who don't agree with them in the past and still in present day.

I saw Marduk live yesterday for the first time. The show was great & the sound was perfect and so. But Mortuus also tried to smack the phone out of fan's hand, fortunately it was not successful. Be careful guys, the frontman is super aggressive and not friendly at all. This fact disappointed me a lot. Other members of the group are way cooler than him tho.

Black metal shouldnt be nice but you don't have to beat the shit of your fans, he could send him from the stage by different, less agressive way, look for example Lord Ahriman, he would never do that. He's nice, friendly dude, Darkthrone don't play live but if they did, Fenriz and N. Culto wouldn't handle that way, Satyr would't for sure, guys from Rotting Christ , Ihsahn, Watain, i am not sure for Horna and Sargeist , from Mayhem only Hellhamer would probably react this way

Completely agree! Mortuus is as much of a dick as any believing Christian there is out there, his actions were no better or different than any religious extremists person out there. Our job as Black Metalists/Satanists/Atheists isn't to be intolerant extremists like the religious, it is to show that we can behave better and not just show we behave better, but that we are the better ones who don't act intolerant of ones differences, as the only time we strike back is with them swinging at us first, meaning the only time we do strike is in self defense only, as what Mortuus did there was not self defense at all, as he was not being physically threaten by that fan, that is no way to treat your fans who are supporting you and your work. Fuck Mortuus!!! Legion was the real Marduk vocalist who never treated any of his fans like that. Now looking at this I miss vocalist Legion even more than I did before. Still Hail Marduk! But Mortuus has to stop making us look like very evil bad intolerant extremist people, as we the Black Metal, Satanist, Atheist community aren't all about that what vocalist Mortuus did there to that fan.
