This was the 1 st real I learnt after The Ships Are Sailing on the guitar and it was in a lesson with fidil player Rudy Velghe of band Orion who taught it to me on the guitar. But since then I heard some variations. And to be able to play it to speed I converted the video to MP3, put into my AnyTune app then I shall work licks by licks. And slightly incrssing the tempo from about 50 BPM to hopefully 100-110 BPM in a few weeks 😛 It’s a excellent advice Kevin Burke gave in a video. I don’t if you learnt to play to speed this way too, Mary, but it works for me. Always a delight to practice along with you 😽❤️ Hope you can make a collaboration again with Shannon Heaton. She said she was happy to make more collaborations in her last Live sesh with Matt, or a week ago perhaps. Sláinte agat 😉🍻

Heyo again, Mary :) I finally took time to practice today cause I had been very busy preparing the house for renovations. So I first played along some backing on the guitar and loved it! 😺 Then I played it at 75% on AnyTune :) and I like that you have triplets, cause I am not very good at it but slightly improving I hope. It’s true there are so many variations. One of the 1st versions I heard was Paddy Carty’s (flute player) with The Ships Are Sailing. So glad to work on these triplets of yours 😼. After it I shall learn The Maid Behind The Bar of yours 😽 Take care. Sláinte ps: who influenced you the most of the fiddle? You sound often a bit Nova Scottian :)

Hi Mari! What strings do you use/prefer? Looks like Evah Pirazzi's, but I could be wrong. Beautiful work!!

Hi @Shawn Huckins -- good eye! Those are indeed Evah Pirazzis. They are by far my favorite string right now. Brilliant and clean, lots of power, plenty of warmth. :)

Great job Mari! Your always so bubbly, I can tell you enjoy teaching :). May I suggest a tune to learn soon? It’s called The Homeruler, I especially enjoy Cathal Hayden’s version which is a little different than the standard. Cheers, Adam.
