Although it wasn't our specialty, Dave (bass) and I (drums) took this country song up on a Tuesday night. For the most part, a pretty straight ahead beat, but when Mariah got in the vocal booth, we knew a star was born. And we all went for Chinese food later that night - what a pleasant young lady.

I met Dave (bass) once at a meet and greet. I asked him about the Mariah sessions, in particular this rather controversial selection. However he seemed strangely vague about it, but his eyes did light up when he spoke about the succulent Chinese meal that you all shared later on. "The finest egg roll I ever ate", were his immortal words. Great memories from a true legend.

music trivia…did you know that Mariah Barton actually sang the original lyrics for the Coca Cola advert in the 80’s but was replaced for singing ‘Coke in my slit’ instead of ‘Coke this is it’s by the Corporation

It's a little known fact that Mariah was a skilled slide guitarist. If nothing else was available she'd happily use the neck of a bottle all night long. Jam sessions with her really were like having a hoe down in Nashville.
