there is a reason she is a Legend, and this is just half of what she can do...she is a songwriter that wrote a lot of number 1s her vocal range is outrageous not only because she can hit high.. but also reach down very low on the spectrum lol the voice that inspired almost everyone in the later generation (and even in her generationl ike Celine) the Legendary and Goddess of Vocals - Mariah Carey

Girl is not only that these older singers are "bound to be better" because of so many years of practice. Mariah and the likes were already monumentally better at 23 years old than any vocalist or artist from the new generation you are refering too. The last true iconic singers are Mariah, Whitney and Celine. Such heights have not been seen again yet.

sena imchen sure they are equally talented vocally. But this video is only one of many proof why Mariah is the Queen of Music. She creates instant music. I neither downgrade Whitney and Celine, I even acknowledged their advantages over Mariah. It's just that among the three, Mariah is the most connected to music. She writes it, help arrange it, handle the sampling, co/produce it and dictates the chord progression of every song she makes.

True. But for the most part these old generation of GREAT TALENTED DIVAS are phased out because the people that consume music these days are not interested with this genre of music. for the record Mariah Carey holds the most stream song in a day last dec. 24, 2018 on Spotify with All I Want for Christmas is You. It also became number 1 on Spotify Worldwide and number 1 on iTunes world wide. So it means that Mariah is still relevant up to this day...

mariah’s latest record is actually very fresh and the sounds are very actual (having in mind it was releases in 2014) she has always been adapting her sound to trends and keeping it current without losing her mark. but there’s a lot ageism in this industry. also xtina is not that old 😭😭 mariah is almost 50, xtina is not even 40 😭
