You're also assuming that we place an equal value on the dollar. Yet the value is always relative to the wealth and earning potential of the subject. She was asked about it, and she answered honestly. That shows integrity and arguably bravery. Bad mouthing should only come into play if the experience was expected but she signed on anyway. Otherwise it is considered quid pro quo. I.e. You give me money + grief, I give you work + grief.

I personally would put up with just about anything for 18 million. Unless it were legally or morally wrong. I highly doubt she was treated so poorly. If so, she wouldn't have stayed. American Idol sucks on the surface, so I am sure it sucks behind the scenes as well. I am not defending the show. You're too dramatic about all this dear. MC (as you call her), would probably even read our convo and say....it's not that big of a deal people! The bottom line, she gets paid for appearances, if you get paid 18 million dollars to do one, the situation and circumstances may not be the best, but you take the good with the bad "appreciate" the work, keep your mouth shut and keep on going!

Triumphant flopped because nobody liked that she was only on a chorus. And Almost Home never charted because it was a soundtrack single. 8 times out of 10 soundtrack songs never chart. Beautiful went platinum because it was a great song and people loved it. Mariah never needed Idol for promo. She has 18 number one hits WITHOUT Idol
