Doctors who do veneers on teeth that can be fixed with braces and retainers need to be held accountable coz the one thing most people say is that they didn’t understand the extent of the procedure and required post care till it was too late.

I’m actually glad that they were both honest as well and said that they watched an influencer do it and they themselves were influenced into getting them. I’m glad they were open enough to say they would have taken a different route entirely too, it encourages peoples to look at different options

No disrespect to Adeola but me personally, I Would have watched several KZfaq videos on the actual procedure, especially unsponsored videos because any form of surgery carries risk.

Anyone thinking about veneers look up cosmetic bonding (you’ll thank me later) ! They give you the same look and you get to keep the integrity of your teeth underneath so if you don’t want them anymore you can get them taken off any your normal teeth are still fine

The way our society has become it's all geared towards instant gratification. Why wait 2-3 years to straighten your teeth with braces when you can get veneers in 3 visits. Or work out for months and months when you can get your body done. Nobody wants to take time and actually work on themselves. They just wanna be done, everything needs to be done.

Great video....I hated my teeth and was embarrassed to smile. I got denman braces at age 26, they are quicker than the usual braces and give a beautiful full smile, cost £5000 and had them on for around 2.5 years. Worth every penny and get compliments alot, would definitely recommend as an alternative 👌🏿

I’m surprised more people don’t know about how invasive getting veneers really is , l remember seeing Shantania beckford getting the procedure done , in turkey too , with her then boyfriend, l think there really was a “ trend “ of getting veneers or other surgical procedures done and documenting it for “ content “ so anyways Shantania’s thumbnail was a picture of her chiseled teeth, that really took me aback! Like what? People are really out here voluntarily having their teeth shaved off? Yikes ! Good that you’re talking about it .

watching videos from an influencer is not research....it is watching one person's perspective. Especially for medical/dental procedures, talk to professionals, the people who have done the procedure. This idea that you watched five videos of people and made a medical decision and you then got someone who asks you to do it for free is fraught with concerns....glad these women are talking about it.

Even before been a dental hygienist I would never recommend veneers! It looks like horse teeth and fake.

I am so happy to see this video and think it’s important for people especially young impressionable girls to see it. I’m in my early 40s with tetracycline stained teeth, through no fault of mine. I’ve lived with this all my life with no issues. Suddenly, a few years back everyone including people that knew me all my life were telling about veneers and all. I started feeling self conscious and seriously looked into getting veneers. However, I researched and did not like how invasive the process would be to my natural otherwise healthy teeth. I asked my dentist’s opinion and he told me everything you just said, the pros and cons. He also told me that the only time he would recommend getting veneers is if the integrity of a person’s teeth is completely gone and irreversible. He saved me from so much hassle.

While this is good info, it's now groundhogs day for this "I REGRET IT" trend. There have been countless videos about people from the back in the day that warn against all these but somehow people don't think to look those up. How do you not research the pros AND cons?! That's your responsibility not the influencers to tell you. This is why it's critical to teach young people to be independent thinkers and not to do everything just because you follow someone else. I can't fathom making a life changing decision just because I saw someone else do it ESPECIALLY when they are getting paid to do it. The influencer world can be so dumb, very unethical and dangerous.

I also wanted veneers because I used to love Giuliana Ransics teeth and that was the first time I heard of the term veneers. I did not expect the process to be so costly and maintaining them is also something to keep in mind. I understand why you guys did that without proper knowledge because when you're younger you just want to change everything you didn't appreciate about yourself. However it's okay, you live and you learn.

Sounds like they both had Zirconium crowns done on their teeth where they are totally shaved down and are like little stubs. Which I wouldn’t advise if you decide you no longer want veneers. It’s very permanent- like they said it’s for LIFE. Zirconium crowns are the LEAST expensive and quick option abroad. Hence why most people go for it. Roughly £1800-2000 incl your hotel stay in Turkey Emax Laminate Veneers although more expensive (roughly £3000+ abroad inc hotel stay in Turkey) have MINIMAL prep and change to your original teeth structure. So if you decide you no longer want them you can revert back to your natural teeth as they are STILL THERE lol. The least change to your natural teeth is cosmetic bonding. Your teeth structure remains but the overall appearance is enhanced and shaped to look even and straight. No matter how “influencers” sell you the idea getting cosmetic dentistry on your teeth isn’t a flippant decision to make. Do your research on the pros and cons and weigh up all the options. There are different types of braces and even clear aligners like Invisalign etc. that you could do. Consider ALL your options!

Take responsibility and don’t just blame it on influencers. We all know/knew about braces and you two with plenty of others decided to this crap instead. I believe you all did it for status & to be in the “in” crowd of influencers because many people including dentist were screaming at the top of our lungs telling people especially young people not to do it for this exact reason mentioned & because they look like horse teeth… it is extremely honorable at the same time to come out and admit it was a mistake. I recognize that as well but it seems like you all are just shifting the blame into someone else instead of doing your own research. So you didn’t even do a quick google search to see how it’s done?
