I think those are really good questions, but i think it's worth approaching the Marie Kondo method in the pure form of deciding with your heart, then after you've decided what sparks joy, go back through them and ask those questions. This helps separate the logical part out so you can stay in touch with your emotional response, then ensure the things that spark joy for you are also practical enough to keep around and assess what you can do in the future to bring those two ideas into each new garment and have things that you both love and can/do use and actually need

In her book, Ms Kondo recommends forming a strong and detailed mental image of the life you want before sorting the items. I feel like that would achieve most of what this video is trying to do, but via emotions rather than logical questions.

For me everything comfortable sparks joy. >9/10 of those should've been rags months or years ago. 😅

My tip is to look at your wardrobe as if you're shopping from it. Allow yourself maximim 30 items for every 100 clothes you have. After that only use the first 30, put the rest of the picked items in a box. The balance, donage it. After 30 days or more repeat ths process.

My closet is 1) a small pile of clothes I actually wear 2) many many mismatched socks that I hate for different reasons 3) an entire section of evening wear/dresses/kimono for what if occasions 4) piles of sentimental tee-shirts given to me as gifts that I can't seem to part with.

Btw I recently managed to purchase nice comfortable underwear and socks and got rid of all my hated pieces that were there if I wasn't doing laundry fast enough and the transition is still giving me joy maybe after 2-3 months! 🥰 Pull the trigger on the socks

Thank you so much for making this. I "Maria Kondo'ed" our clothes this weekend, and I literally played this on repeat. My husband and I made a joke of it, but it was so helpful to almost "mind control" our purge 😂😊 so helpful, for real. Thank you!!

It’s okay. Marie Kondo is all about thanking things because they either brought us joy at one time or they taught us what we don’t like! There is no such thing as wasting because everything came into our lives for a purpose ☺️
