This is a video the raw footage of a party I threw for Marilyn Monroe in 1952 during the time she was filming Niagara. A little known fact is that she didn't actually arrive in the Navy helicopter, but rather by car. She posed in the helicopter for Look magazine after it had landed. Enjoy and do share!

That is my Dad (George Fisher), interviewing Marilyn Monroe, Mickey Rooney, sitting on his lap, and Ray Anthony (The Big Band leader), standing to Marilyn's right. Dad was interviewing Marilyn at the home of Ray Anthony, who had thrown a party honoring Marilyn on August 3rd, 1952. The film was shoot by my Uncle Ted Fischer who worked for my father as his movie cameraman.

Hello Jon! Your Dad was very charming, articulate, and likable during the famous "A Star is Born" (Judy Garland, James Mason) television broadcast premier in late September 1954. I have watched it several times (via KZfaq) and I really enjoyed your Dad as much as I did the great celebrities of the day. Louella Parsons asked your father about his children, and how many he had - and "Dad" mentioned that another was "on the way." It was great the way people spoke in such respectful terms back in the day. Were you that "inbound" child? I was born in 1956 - so I was not too far behind (LOL!) Cheers to your great memories!

@@jontfischer Hello Jon, I just wanted to correct something I said in my comment of yesterday. It was Hedda Hopper (not Louella Parsons) who spoke to your Dad (and asked about his family) at the "A Star is Born" premier, which was held at the Pantages Theatre on September 29, 1954. I guess I confused the two Hollywood columnists ;-) My mistake - sorry about that!

Today is February 8, 2023, and I want to send out a (belated) happy birthday wish to the wonderful Mr. Ray Anthony, who turned 101 years old last month. God bless your sir! My local radio station does a weekly program, "Sinatra and Friends," where your music is greatly show-cased and I love it. Forever thanks!

I just saw this house in episode 4 of the new season of Million Dollar listing. The house was a bit eccentric and outdated so it was being sold for basically the value of the land. In case anyone wants to see the episode. How wonderful though for the seller to know Marilyn was in your home for a party in her honor and to have photos and video! And the seller said she lived in the guest cottage for a short time. Thank you for sharing this footage!

Nice to see this Super 8 movie in full length. In the early 80th I got on the black market a VHS tape also with parts of this party. I love the Marilyn song by Ray Anthony. I have a cd with this super song. The song is from 1952. I also collect 78 rpm. Does someone know if a 78 rpm record of this song was pressed? Marilyn disliked Mickey Rooney since 1948. He whispers to her always indecent and pornographic sayings in the ear. She thought this was repulsive.

I've been trying to find a CD with the "Marilyn" song for decades! I once had a chance to buy it (last Century, as I recall) but didn't have the money on me. Then when I tried to buy it later: GOOD LUCK?! Couldn't find it anywhere? Do you know where I can purchase a copy! I would be eternally grateful! [Why isn't it issued anymore? copyright?]

So eternally grateful to have finally found a copy of this "Marilyn" song you created for a truly angelic lady! Do you know how I could ever obtain a copy of this song? I've tried several different outlets: they all say that it's 'out of print' for many years! I would be so grateful to find a copy to own! Truly great song! For truly a great persona: Miss Monroe! [Just found out the truth about her murder this past week: so devastating! Yet Karma came around for mobster Sam Giancana et al.! Never should have happened! A very rough week for me to come to know the details of Miss MM's final weekend. It feels as if it just happened last night! No one was there for her! Why is her CIA 'file still sealed until 2039? "Something's gotta give?!" More people need to know the truth! Heads still need to roll! So disappointed in our CIA, FBI, LAPD, and politicians of that era! Sorry for the long distraction from your very sweet song, but to hear it again for the first time (since the '80s when I think I last heard it), brings back all the thoughts, feelings, and memories of 'Marilyn'!]

Ray Anthony was class, as was Marilyn. Perhaps he should’ve married her instead of Mamie Van Doren, referred to as “the drive-in Marilyn?” He supposedly had a thing for her but had to settle for Mamie, while MM married joltin Joe DiMaggio, who, it has been confirmed, smacked Marilyn around when he disliked her behavior. Congratulations to Ray Anthony for making to 100 this year! I bet he has some wild stories to tell!

This is a famous party if you're a Marilyn Monroe fan you'll know on the 3rd August 1952, Ray threw a party for her at his home, and debuted the song he wrote for her, entitled simply, “Marilyn.” He estimates around 500 members of the press were in attendance. Mickey Rooney and canine celebrity Lassie also came to the party. Marilyn was well known at this time.
