Looking splendidly bodacious in that very generously revealing white gown, Marilyn's unique combination of sexuality, sensuality and at the same time, her adorably natural innocence are irresistible in this her "Showgirl" impromptu dance rehearsal...

I can't take my eyes off of her. The perfect voluptuous figure. As for her acting I've always thought she was fantastic. Comedy is very difficult and she was like magic. She's also great in drama and should have been given more.

In that era in such a snug dress, a lady would have worn a corset. Marilyn, usually athletically slim and trim, here looks three months pregnant.
@jerrylee8261 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I noticed that, too. Was very distracting and nothing like the body she had in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Seems someone would have suggested she wear a corset. She should have been able to see that tummy sticking out.
@JudgeJulieLit Жыл бұрын
@@jerrylee8261 I have since read that she may have been pregnant, in which case the dress design should have been altered. As a corset cuts off nutrition and oxygen to a developing baby and deforms its bones, not a good option in any era.
@jerrylee8261 Жыл бұрын
@@JudgeJulieLit Wow, never heard of that. I didn't think about a baby being deformed by a corset. If she was pregnant, it was obviously by that ogre Miller and as luck would have it the baby would have looked exactly like him. How different Marilyn's life would have been if she had been capable of giving birth. Have read that she had some "Hollywood abortions" so that may have affected her ability.
@KarmicSalt Жыл бұрын
@@JudgeJulieLit no, it doesn't.
@JudgeJulieLit Жыл бұрын
@@KarmicSalt Tightly tied 19th century female corsets (as the one that gave fictional Scarlett O'Hara at 16 her most unnatural "17 inch waist"), per postmortem autopsies of some longtime wearers, over time could and did deform internal organs and rib structure. So yes, bad for prenatal developing babies.
