She's the woman who put performance art on the map - with thousands and thousands queuing up to sit opposite her in silence - and even getting her work featured on the original Sex and the City.

Now, Marina Abramovic's anthology of endurance is centre stage at London's Royal Academy - the first time in the academy's 250-year history that its main galleries have been devoted solely to a female artist.
The exhibition was postponed for three years due to Covid - but it finally opened to the public this weekend.
Kiran Moodley has been speaking to the Serbian-born performance artist.

Šteta što nemaš smisla za umjetnost ni smisao za razumijevanje...nije do Marine,do tebe je...ti bi očito bila jedna od onih koja bi povukla okidač da si bila prisutna na performansu tada kada je dala svakome na izbor da radi kako hoće?...to govori o tebi,ne o Marini.Marina je svakako već rekla da ima i takvih među onima koji posmatraju njezin performans...zna da nije svako oduševljen sa time šta radi,i ona nema problem sa time...ljudi imaju problem sa time...tko neće,NE MORA da gleda performans,zar ne? Koliko ima smisla gledati nešto što se ne razumije?,nema potrebe ni gledati,ni prisustvovati,a onda ni povlačiti 'alatke za uništenje'... Ne znam odakle taj poriv da se uvijek želi automatski uništiti TO ŠTO SE NE RAZUMIJE?To je tipično za klasičan način razmišljanja...nisi baš neka osoba sa UMJETNIČKIM pogledima i vidicima,a presudila bi?...smiješno i klasično,i sasvim očekivano... Ali,shvaćam odakle mišljenje dolazi...dovoljno je pročitati komentare na engleskom jeziku da se vidi koliko je maha uzelo ludilo nakon pandemije,na globalnom nivou,a dotiču sve moguće teorije urote o svemu i svačemu,pa tako i o Marini... Marina je umjetnica...ne treba brkati umjetničke svjetonazore sa klasičnim...niti umjetnike koji eksperimentiraju sa svime i svačime vezati automatski za nekakve rituale i ostale gluposti... ...UMJETNOST je nešto drugo... Osim toga,Marina je u pravu... ....ovaj svijet sa ovakvim ljudima je vječito ista muka... Laki su na osuđivanju,uništavanju i zatiranju...to ide odmah...daj im alat da mogu da te dokrejče,samo nakon tri sata će se DESITI HAOS u kom će BEZ PÔ MUKE složno devastirati,i to bilošto... Šteta što se ljudi NE ZNAJU tako BRZINSKI organizirati,i ODMAH,nakon tri sata automatski DOGOVORITI da naprave nešto KORISNO i za svačiju DOBROBIT...to ne znaju...jednostavno NISU TAKVI...nema toga u LJUDSKOJ PRIRODI...ali uništiti,to može,to je okej,to se BRZO DESI... Ali,ipak...to ne znači da treba "pozovati na lomaču" da se: OČISTI KULTURNI PROSTOR* ......što se mene tiče,sav je kulturni prostor zagađen,a NIGDJE NEMA NI "K" OD KULTURE* ....pa ono... ....pozivam na: ŽIVI,i PUSTI DA ŽIVE...jer je ionako LUDILO UZELO MAHA na SVE STRANE* ....a ludilo brzo plane...ne treba davati čak ni benzin i šibice u ruke... .....točno se može na svakom ćošku neko negdje zapaliti,bez po muke i napraviti izgled.... Ne treba danas ljude mnogo pozovati ni motivirati da "očiste prostor".... I da bude sve još PRLJAVIJE i još gore.... Marina je tek SITNIČICA... MALO MORE NEKULTURE pliva na sve strane....
