Marina is hugely underrated; she's developed so much as a person irl and also through her music. She's not just a great artist but also an amazing person; seen her live and she's incredibly sweet

This song is a great take on internal conflicts, it's hard to tell with how rapid the lyrics are but they focus on individuality, the need to be different and find success your own way and while that sounds good if you have that plan in mind as a goal...it's never going to be enough if you so desperately crave success even if you reach it you're always gonna want more and more hence why the rapid lyrics on change and the entire song in general and the sanity themes of losing sanity over obsession on something you want to bad never satisfying you even in you gain it you become unappreciative of the life you have now.

Definitely one of my favorite Marina videos! It's so much fun to watch. I've always seen this song as kind of tongue-in-cheek and even a bit of consumerism and media critique in it, especially the lines "TV told me how to fell, now real life has no appeal" and "your possessions will possess you".

Marina mentioned many times that she loved pop culture. On the other hand, she never compromised, gave up her artistic vision and social opinions and sold her soul for the sake of fame. That's how great she is 👏🤘❤️. I think the TV section is quite ironic since the whole song seems to deal with the rejection of the material world, TV reality, dummys, fake society, etc. But maybe her character in this song is torn between the two directions (fame with creativity cropped by the producers and majors versus relative success with creativity freedom, but hey that's what the whole TFJ album is about, no? 😉 Or at least "Mowgli's Road"), and is in a state of attraction/repulsion. Favorite lines : "Cause I feel like I'm the worst so I always act like I'm the best. If you are not very careful, your possessions will possess you."
