The 47th Marine Marathon ran under cool and sunny skies on October 30, 2022, after a 2 year change to a ‘virtual race’ due to the COVID pandemic. The virtual races of 2020 and 2021 were unmetered run-on-your-own course and runners sent in their times and were mailed their finisher’s medal.
Over 22,000 ran this year with some dressing up in costumes for the race. Plenty of Marines inspired runners to finish at every mile marker. The popular race is also known as “The Peoples Marathon” and the “Marathon of the Monuments.”
