Greetings Matthew, new reefer here, tank is currently cycling, day 19, water is super cloudy. Do I need to do anything, or will it clear up on it's own once cycling completes. Thanks in advance and "Happy reefing"!

Thank you. I did clean my sand gravel and the cloudiness happened. I understand it now. Doesn't help i added the beneficial bacteria in the tank a week ago.

Just hit a month on my tank,performed first water change (about 50%)and now I'm cloudy. Added some new activated carbon,which it's not as cloudy but still hazy. It's been a week, any tips or should I just do nothing?

Can you use a magic eraser to clean the inside glass or will it kill the fish?

I use a vortex diatom xl filter clears tank in like an hour

As always, brilliant info from a cheerful Chappy 😂But, What about brown on your sand and glass. I have tried everything, moved my fish to the quarantine tank so no unwanted food, been using bacter 7 for this last month, and still after my lights have been on for a few hours, the brown is back on the sand 😩 any suggestions 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sounds like diatoms. There are some good videos out there, and it usually goes away. Copepods help, lowering lights, sand sifting goby's, uv sterlizer. Just a few suggestions to start!

@@BulkReefSupply thanks, I have tried UV Steriliser, but that didn’t help much, if anything, I think it wiped out my copepods, I have tried cutting down on my lights, but then my corals suffer, I did away with my 300ltr tank a swapped to a Fluval Evo, I am wondering if my return pump is to fast and not giving enough time for the UV to work properly 🤷🏻‍♂️

brightwell mb clean with the mb 7 should help.

@@reefrepublik1440 tried mb7 for a month, although it stopped the brown forming on the glass, on the sand it just kept coming back, I had to take my clown fish out as it totally put off his food. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hello Mathew! Greetings from Modesto, CA! I'm a beginner in the Saltwater hobby, and you're the reason I have gotten as far as I have. But 1 th8ng that stumps me is, How in the heck do I get my tank glass clean? I have tried A foam glass cleaner that is tried and true and nothing but streaks and smear. Windex works but still leaves a smeared finish! And to save face I do not spray products directly on the tank glass. I actually go to an adjacent room and spray it on paper towels. Any suggestions? Thank You in advance! Gary

Use microfiber cloth when cleaning the outside glass. It's way less likely to leave streaks

What about my snails breeding they do that from time to time and it makes the water cloudy

Yep, another good example. Just normal filtration will take care of it. You could do a water change to speed it along, or just use some fine filter floss.

Another great example. First you'll need to determine the source of the problem, likely having something to do with your dosing routine. Too much alk or calc? Maybe dosing them too close together? Not in a high flow area? Kalkwasser slurry gone awry? Once you identify the issue, it should be relatively easily solved with some large water changes, changing what was causing the precipitation, and testing a bit more!
