@@joshm7225 I think it's important, whether one served or not, to draw a distinction between the foreign policy objectives of a given administration and the badass motherfuckers who went over and fought. It IS possible to hate one, for all it's lies and greed, while supporting the bravery and dedication of the other. I didn't serve when I could've, and I regret that. But in the macro, I hate the corruption and greed of the oil industry which still drives so much of our foreign policy, and hope we never put so many valuable lives on the line when our national security is not being threatened. There should really be overwhelming, universal support for our soldiers and Marines however, who don't have the luxury of agreeing or disagreeing with a President or Congress about going to war. There seemed to be much less ambiguity about the "just war" in Afghanistan, where the humanitarian objectives appeared to be more clear cut. At the end of the day though, it makes no difference. They got their orders and went. I never understood why protesters went to airports and milliary bases to hassle the soldiers and Marines when their beef was with the policy makers. It should be illegal to target and disrespect uniformed members of the military who are just executing the foreign policy objectives of the government. It is sad and frustrating to see how many good people get killed or wounded when our govt gets it wrong for whatever reason. We should definitely do everything in our power to keep it from happening again. As an aside, I'm of the opinion that once a person has risked their life defending this country, there should be no possibility of them losing VA benefits. Even if they're convicted of mass murder and dishonorably discharged, they still answered the call and served. Their medical care should be the taxpayer's responsibility until the day they die, even if they're behind bars. It should be a guarantee given to anyone who answers this nation's call to arms, period. It's the very least we can do. Also, over the years and through two different wars, we've seen many soldiers and Marines getting prosecuted under the UCMJ for various "crimes." Often times there has been political involvement in prosecutions carried out against combat troops which made those cases questionable at best. Careers took precedence over innocence. It would seem that removing the chain of command from taking responsibility for, and authority over the proceedings would be a step in the right direction. It shouldn't be easier to convict a soldier/Marine in a military court of law, it should be harder. And every solder/Marine deserves to be tried by a jury of peers who are the same rank. No more majors and Lt Colonels deciding the fate of enlisted soldiers and Marines. Why are we so willing to stack the deck AGAINST the ones who face the greatest danger? Changes have to be made before more innocent lives are ruined IMHO.

i heard a company wanted to make a game called "10 days in Fallujah" to honour all soldiers that fought and died in that battle, but some assholes protested and the game was cancelled, and it had rhe support of most vets, but not from their families for some reason.

Yeah, like my buddies family, who lost their son in Fallujah. What a bunch of assholes, right? It was still in the "way too soon" era and too specific. They wouldn't make a fuss if you made that game today but at the time it was considered capitalising on brutality that people were still trying to deal with. Fallujah was considered as a case of heavy losses....it would have been like releasing a DLM mission for Flight Simulator where you fly a plane into the WTC.

Marines marines marines....they only mention the army once. The marines were supposedly the spearhead of the attack but reality is the army soldiers plunged deep into the enemy lines while the marines were bogged down. They dont give the soldiers any credit for taking Fallujah which is bs. They deserve more credit than the marines for taking Fallujah. Just because their basic training is a (little) harder and a couple weeks longer doesn't make them any tougher or better warriors. I was army and I've thumped a marine a time or two with ease...just saying

The Army is a really well run organization. They have all of the special gear to get the job done, no question about it. The Army can March, they can run the O course with ease. They look very sharp in their uniforms. All in all I think that the Army is a fine place to train soldiers to protect Americas interests. On the other hand, what is a U S Marine. He is a fowl mouthed, sweaty stinking, 19 year old kid that can field strip his weapons in the dark clean them and put them back together before you can count to 100. He marches for miles eats out of pouches, cold most of the time , has enough time for a frag order concerning their mission fills up his canteens, loads himself down with 60-70 of ammunition plus another 20 grenades. Checks his packs, first aid gear, glasses, night vision. Food. All and about 145 to 170 lbs of gear including his weapon and K-Bar knife for hand to hand combat. This my friend is the difference between an Army Soldier and a United States Marine. When they go on a mission they are self sufficient capable of an all out destruction and anialation of enemy. That is the way a war must fought. The rules of engagement CRAP that out troops were forced to fight under was dangerous to the troops. The politicians should ha e gone over there for 30 days under those rules of engagement (ROE) and then we could see how many of them returned, period. And of those that did return would they still stay with the same (ROE). There are many differences between the Army and the Marine Corps. First of all, the Army song. Sing it. As stroll through the park. The Marine Corps Hymn Virtually every line has to do with our history of our beloved Corps. It speaks of wars on foreign lands, It we in every clime... and place... Where we can take a gun... We fight in the air, land and sea. That mantra is through out our song and our history. In summary when you join the service, no matter what branch you are proud of the branch that you served in. Here is my take on one reason I chose the CORPS ARMY. ________Soldier Navy___________Sailor Air Force-_______Airman/Airforce Coast Guard_____Coastie MARINE CORPS__MARINE Just my thoughts on things

This isn't the place for immature "my dick is bigger, than your dick" pissing contests. Young men died accomplishing their mission. I served in the Fallujah AO from September 04 thru January 05, as a USAISA advisor to the 7th Marine Regiment. Being a Army Officer on a Marine staff gives you a unique perspective. You are correct that the Army had a Major role in Fallujah. General Mattis testified that the Marines could not have successfully completed the mission without massive assistance from the Army. All assault Battalions advanced behind US Army Cavalry and Armour. All North/South Avenues of Advance were kept open by Army Armour. 2 of the 6 assault Battalions were Army. Also where most maps the Marines 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, the British Army's Black Watch Regiment moved forward to engage fleeing insurgents. While most media outlets reported soley on the fighting in the center of the city were the Marines and Soldiers fought a savage battle, in the East flank of the City TF 2-2 Infantry fought a almost separate battle against the most insurgents, killing the most insurgents, and suffering the most US casualties. Which is why TF 2-2 Infantry was the only unit awarded the Presidential Unit Citation. Also of note was that at the Highway 10 interchange B Troop 1/5th Cavalry, the 759th Army MP Battalion and a mixed Company of Marine Combat Engineers & Seabees fought a tenacious 5 hour battle against a 600 man insurgent force made up of mostly former Soldiers of the 14th Iraqi Mechanized Infantry Brigade who were the best defenders in 2003 fighting ferociously at Karbala and Baghdad International Airport, it was a tough fight and got no attention from the media. The media flocks to the Marines, always have, always will. At the 2nd Battle of Al-Najaf there were 4,500 Soldiers and one Marine Battalion was part of the reserve. C Company 1/4 Marines was attached to 3/8 Cavalry to clear the infamous cemetery, CNN of course report "the Marines Take Al-Najaf" its always like that. What Fallujah really was about was excellent teamwork between Army and Marine forces. That's all the world really needs to know. If you wanted your name in the news you should have been a singrr or athlete.

@@jerrysarkovics5631 wow you really are totally out of touch with reality. I suggest you get back on your medication. My previous reply on this thread was very generous about the Marines. But your asinine comments means you truly need a reality check. From 3/2003 until 12/2010 the USMC never had less than 53% of the actual US Combat Troops in Iraq, yet somehow only managed to conduct 18% of US Combat operations. JSOC while never having more than 1% of Combat Troops conducted 20% of US Combat operations. The other 62% of US Combat operations was conducted by the Big Green, you know the big old, non-glamorus, non-elite US Army. Marines are excellent light Infantry, everything else they do is bordering on subpar. The biggest battles in Iraq and Afghanistan were between Marine Commanders fighting over operational control of Army assets. If Marine Commanders could get operational control over Army Armour, Marine tanks sat. If they had a choice between a few Apaches or a crapload of Cobras, Marine Aviation sat. The same with Artillery, Intelligence, Signal, Engineers and especially Logistics. What was the biggest thing that the United States learned from nearly 2 decades of constant combat? It is that the USMC can NOT deploy, conduct and sustain combat operations without tens of thousands of Support MOS Soldiers from the Army National Guard and Reserve. I went to Camp Bastion/Leatherneck 5 times where on the US side over 40% of all Troops were Army, but the Marines were in charge of security. When the Taliban leaders who planned the direct attack on the base were questioned, they said they said their didn't attack the British Army side because security was on point. The attack by 13 lightly armed Taliban drove 1700 Marines into bunkers, from which they didn't emerge until Gunners from the RAF Regiment had crossed the Airfield and killed all the Taliban. There are 29 provinces in Iraq, the Marines were responsible for 1. Al-Anbar is the biggest province, but it is also the least populated. 9,000 Marines were in Al-Anbar and it was the Wild West for 4 and a half years before the Surge. In the of Autumn 2007, 5,200 Soldiers of the 4th and 25th Infantry Divisions replaced the Marines in the Combat lead, with the Marines relegated to the Reserve, after 6 month Al-Anbar was won. It's the Marines who turned every facet of the training from recruit through senior leadership upside-down from 2007 until 2015. The reason is performance. As you can see from the FY21 through FY25 DoD budget projections we are going to see a 22% reduction in the number of Marines, including the loss of all Marine Armoured Battalions and 8 Infantry Battalions. Marine Combat Aviation, helicopters or fixed wing, is being cut at a even higher rate as it just doesn't work. While the Army receives a 8% increase in total manpower and a 17% increase in total funding. The fact that the United States Navy has proposed to Congress that they slow production of other projects to stand up 6 Battalions of Naval Infantry, shows just how off track the Marines have strayed from their core competency. Massive budget cuts for the Marines, large increases in manpower, equipment & total funding for the Army, and Navy wanting to have its own Infantry again are all based on the poor performance of the United States Marine Corps over the last 50 years. Sorry to trample on your ego with facts but 2 decades of constant combat have firmly entrenched the Marines as America's Junior Varsity.

They said methampethamines but I guarantee you they don’t know how opiate addicts act. It’s very similar to Benzodiazepines, like Xanax. A normal person taking it the first time is going to experience it as a major downer. But after a while your brain chemistry starts to balance out and try to reach homeostasis, while you’re on the drug. So after a while the person abusing these drugs start to feel down, until they get their drug and then they use it as if it’s an upper. Opiates are a huge problems in the Middle East. I’ve never heard of meth being a problem, but I could be wrong. Must’ve missed that sentence in the video when I was watching it the first time. My bad.

They think they know it all just because they used to play some CoD or Battlefield and now they know how war really works apparently. As for me i'm Dutch and wanting to immigrate to the US and try for enlistment in the US Army to join brave men like these and fight alongside them. Astral Architect This war was fought for money, people died this for absolutely nothing. No WMD’s, no chemical weapons, no centrifuges, no threat to the homeland. Then companies like Halliburton were awarded no bid and price plus contracts, were burning trucks and charging the government. Government contractors were charging the tax payers $60 per load of laundry. It was all about money. It’s not a joke... it’s really really not a joke. By the way, It’s unpatriotic to not question wtf happened. If you want to move to a country where questioning the government’s decision making is prohibited, try North Korea. You do the people that died an injustice by pretending this war was fought for freedom or something, and pretending what happened is okay. This war was a huge mistake, accomplished nothing aside from making contractors rich, killed thousands of people, led to the rise of ISIS which killed thousands of more people. Patriotism? That’s delusion to ignore this, not patriotism.
