Wish Mario Kart 8 used gliding mechanics like 7 did.There are almost no shortcuts you can use the glider to take advantage of if MK8.

Even after 8 years, I still didn’t knew you could do shroomless checkpoint skips and go past fences with high-air gliding.

In Maka Wuhu there’s an ultra shortcut at the first lap mark. You need to mushroom (or a precise hop) over the border to the right in the river. If done right, you’ll spawn later in the course

You can actually drift onto the ice thing in Rosalina's Ice World and still get the shortcut. It's really hard to pull off, though.
