Mario Kart 9 - Retro Track Predictions [The Random Block]

Күн бұрынIn recent Mario Kart titles, it has been a tradition to add tracks from previous games, with updated graphics, layouts, and designs. In this episode of the Random Block, I'll show you my predictions for tracks that should be remade for Mario Kart 9!
I was originally going to add captions describing my ideas for how to update the tracks, but I deemed it was too much work, and I wanted to get a video uploaded as soon as I could.
So, if you still want to see them, give me a comment telling me how!
Also, if you're one of the few people that has seen the original version of this video, then don't be confused. This is an updated version, with less stupid glitches.
I own none of the gameplay footage shown in this video, nor any of the audio.

No Rainbow Road? I'm honestly expecting a GBA Rainbow Road in the future, whether it's DLC for Mario Kart 8 or it's on the next handheld Mario Kart. You can't remove Rainbow Road, it's simply a given in Lightning Cup after Mario Kart 7. Not that DS Bowser's Castle isn't awesome, but there's always going to be at least two Rainbow Roads in each installment from now on, one Nitro and one Retro.

I was surprised by that too, and you're totally right! Honestly I would take GBA Ribbon Road out because that was DLC in MK8. Then I would move GCN Wario Colosseum and DS Bowser Castle up one spot both, and put GBA Rainbow Road at the end. SNES Mario Circuit 4 GCN Wario Colosseum DS Bowser Castle GBA Rainbow Road Like this, right?

by the way, it would make sense if you brought back GBA rainbow road because mario kart 7 has SNES rainbow road mario kart 8 has N64 rainbow road makes sense...

I think it's DS bowser's castle because wii had N64's bowser's castle, but that is a bit inconsistent.

My Predictions: Shell Cup 3DS Mario Circuit GCN DK Mountain Wii U Electrodome N64 Wario Stadium Banana Cup GBA Riverside Park SNES Mario Circuit 4 Wii U Thwomp Ruins DS Airship Fortress Lead Cup 3DS Rock Rock Mountain Wii U Dolphin Shoals GCN Daisy Cruiser Wii Toad's Factory Lightning Cup Wii Dry Dry Ruins DS Waluigi Pinball Wii U Bowser's Castle GCN Rainbow Road A lot of these tracks are more recent, but I'd love to see them redone.

Even though most of these prediction could be wrong, I agree with Toad's Factory in the Shell Cup!!! :-)

I like your predictions, and the main reason is the Leaf Cup! - It starts with an underrated classic -- Wii Dry Dry Ruins. I hear some poeple say that they want the inside of the ruin section to be Anti-Gravity, and I agree. I would like to see the old ruins in HD, and it would be cool to drive on the walls of the ruins, avoiding the typical Mario underground desert stage hazards like streams of sand flowing down, wild flying bats etc. The end of the inside section could lead to a flying ramp just before the last couple of turns before the finish line. - Then followed up by what I consider to be my personal favorite MK course -- GBA Broken Pier! I have so much to say about this one! I am a HUGE fan of Halloween-themed levels in video games, and the Mario Kart series... eehhmm, does somewhat have those, especially in the early days (look at SMK's ''Ghost Valley'' for instance). I would like Broken Pier to be some sort of a forgotten, dark harbor or shipyard (you know, like ''Wario Shipyard'' in MK7). Lightning striking in the background, reflecting on the pier. There could be a haunted lighthouse in the background too. For the track itself -- the wiki page description states that this race takes place at, or at least near, a graveyard. Now, you don't see any gravestones around here, but the angry faced mountains with fire burning inside them could confirm this place to be a crematory of some sorts. Then there's that U-turn halfway around the track, and this is what I myself would like to see -- make that turn into a heavily damaged, wrecked steamship instead, with those pesky Boos flying out of it and towards the racers, taking away some coins when coming into contact with them. Then let the racers make the turn THROUGH that same ship: a rusty ship hold. Gloomy, and partially covered in seeweed. Or, make a part of the pier to be sunken, so there's an Underwater Section, having the racers avoid Bonefishes (you know, those guys from the New Super Mario Bros. series) while racing beneath the stormy waves for awhile. I imagine this to be somewhere at the end of a lap, like at the angular section just before the finish line. - Then, the third track -- Wii U Electrodome! There's no explanation needed for this track, except I would like the main parts to be a bit narrower than they are on the Wii U & Switch. - And for the final track, an undeniable classic -- N64 Wario Stadium! Literally the only track from MK64 that isn't used up to this day. With this track being very [long], I want to give you a [short] summary of how I see it in its return (ironic, isn't it). A couple of S-turns around the track could work pretty well in Anti-Gravity. As for the Underwater Section, I can see the long straight (in the low center of the course map, where all those / \/ \/ \/ \/ \ little bumps used to be) being flooded with water: dirty water mixed with sand floating on and through it, just for detail purposes. As for the opposite -- the high hills (like the one right after the start/finish line when you just took the first light left turn. And maybe even the infamous Big Jump could benefit from this detail) could be made into flying ramps. That would add something new, while still keeping the pressure high, since there's still the opportunity to be hit with a shell or lightning while in the air, or when you were just about to take the jump.

It kind of has to be used as there are only 4 GCN tracks left (Rainbow Road, Bowser Castle, Wario Colosseum and Mushroom city.) If the pattern continues then Rainbow Road will be in the game after the next as GBA RR will be in the game. There is only one N64 track left which is Wario Stadium (this track probably will be used) and it is unlikely to have 2 wario tracks in the same game (as retro tracks) so the only two left are mushroom City and Bowser Castle.

Talking about the retro tracks from the wii, i would take out DK Summit and put Coconut Mall, i really think that deserves to be in the game, and for the Dry Dry Ruins i would take out the music from the inside of the ruins because it dulls the good theme of the outside

I think we will. We're getting 12 cups total in Mario Kart 8 (as far as we know), so saying that we'll get 5 retro cups in the original version of Mario Kart 9 isn't much of a stretch.

I'm also banking on there being 5 Retro cups in the next Mario Kart. Now, my predictions: I tried to keep the distribution between the past installments pretty even. MK8 had the most returning tracks with 8. I know now that Carrot Cup is a bit unlikely considering Mario Kart 9 is most likely going to be on a handheld, but is it *really* that farfetch'd of an idea? Considering that Mario Kart now has DLC added into the mix and just being a big franchise in general, they very well can branch off 32 tracks in the future. Wario Stadium was the first Star Cup course in N64 and it is the first Leaf Cup course in my predictions. The consistency is there so, I don't see the problem. I guess you can switch around the tracks so Dolphin Shoals goes higher than Shell and Cheep Cheep Island goes to Shell instead, but does it really matter? I think Cheep Cheep Island fits Banana Cup better anyway.

I'd rather not have a fifth cup but in my opinion i would like to see an event cup. There are Event Pokémon right? Why not MarioKart Tracks? N64 Wario Stadium is the last N64 track left so why not make that an event track. Also Nintendo announced that if they make mk9 Electrodome will not be included unless it is Dlc with is slight to nothing of happening.

JCL Kaytwo Well there aren't event tracks but if you don't know, Nintendo used to have certain events like at a ToysRUs where you could bring your GameBoy and your Pokémon Cartridge and get a Mew etc,. So they could do that with MarioKart where if you go to lets say E3, you could get a special track if you go there.
