4 жыл бұрын"Vesti la giubba" was Lanza's "lucky aria". He recorded it professionally many times at RCA, film studios, radio, sang at his recitals and at home for his guests. And his very first private recording session he had at the age of 19 in 1940 of course included this aria. No wonder that he sang it at audition for Serge Koussevitzky in 1942, after which the famous conductor, so to say, opened for Mario the way to his professional career. And how ironic that the next film Lanza had to begin in November 1959 in Rome was "Laugh, Clown, Lough", based on Leoncovallo's "Pagliacci"! Which, as you know never happened... We will never know if Lanza could excel in this film his previous renditions of the famous aria, but you can compare his renditions made on 17.09.1950 and in late August 1959, presented here in two film clips.

... Только Марио Ланца был органичен в роли Карузо.... Потрясающая Актёрская игра... Голос Божественный... Лучший Канио♥️♥️♥️ Известный певец с хорошим музыкальным образованием "напрягся" уже на первых тактах... "с трудом доволочился" до конца партии... Ланца был неподражаем! Доказательством тому служит факт, что до сих пор, на пороге его 100-летия, так и нет биографического фильма о нём, хотя такая идея в Голливуде витала с 1960-года и позже возникала не раз. Всё дело в том, что так и не нашлось подходящего артиста, способного воплотить образ Ланца на экране, даже с использованием его фонограмм.

Нет ничего случайного в жизни: я тоже, ни раз, ловила себя на мысли, что кто-то задумает снять фильм о Марио Ланца... про себя знаю, что смотреть не стану, в случае, если идея закончится результатом... всё и дело-то в том, что он - не повторим и для меня таким и останется... Царствие Небесное, Светлая Память🙏🙏🙏😢♥️♥️♥️

You are greatly mistaken! Lanza had a very poverful, big voice! Many his contemporaries testify it. How do you think he coud sing in Albert Hall in London before the audience of 8 thousand people without any amplification? Alas, he wasn't an opetatic singer, but his woice was incomparable to anybody else, before and after him. May be only Caruso! Though it's hard to judge, as his the recordings we have are of a very doubtful quality. By the way, who really had not a very big voice (though being undoubtedly one of the most prominent tenors) - it was Di Sefano!

@@irinakuzmishina6099 Facendo paragone tra Caruso e Lanza Lei senza volerlo sta riconoscendo che capisce poche cose della vera arte lirica . Mi spiego. Parlando della lirica : 1 Enrico Caruso era un Fenomeno 2 Mario Lanza purtroppo non era un cantante lirico vero , era una star di Hollywood. Mi creda , cantare davanti un microfono come lo ha fatto Lanza non ha niente a vedere con l’arte lirica vera. Saluti cordiali Il vecchio
