Love Marion Williams. I had the privilege to host and sing with her in Connecticut. There's non like her. I'm so thankful for the time we shared. Allen M. Hardy

Marion was electrifying in her hayday. While everybody else was trying to sound like Mahalia, Marion seemed like was was determined to stand out and have her own sound. She grunted and growled and soared with them high notes. She knew how to give a performance. I.m curious if Patti took inspiration from Marion.

She had more showmanship. Rolling Stone Said,” She Was The Greatest”. She should have left the ward singers and gone on her own and been as great as Mahalia Though they were two different kind of singers.

Not really Mahalia was in a class of her own. Marion was a saprano whereas Mahalia was alto.

@@keepingitrealandtruthful.5081 Mahalia was a mezzo-soprano.

@@KajiVocals I say alto because she could really sing low.

@@keepingitrealandtruthful.5081 Her lowest note is a D3 and it’s weak. It’s not particularly low range-speaking. Even Karen Clark can go lower. In fact Marion Williams has gone lower too. Down to C/C#3
