This song came into my thoughts this morning. I was young when the church used to sing this song. I decided to check youtube and was so blessed to hear this song. Wow! It brought back memories when I thought the church were saying we shall be shame!😅 When I was a child, I heard as a child because I didn't have understanding. Now that I know as a saint and minister of God for several years, I shout like Kitty!

I came here having seen a UK TV documentary about the Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club where the Stars of Faith performed this song in glorious style and energy in 1969 , walking amidst the audience tables . A bit more of an intimate performance than this venue , but this is special too. Delivering the gospel with a passion . Gospel music was the cornerstone of Rock and Rock and so much more . Keep the Faith 😄👏R

One of Gospel Music's most Unsung Heroes. Mr. Anderson was a TRAILBLAZER. NOBODY sang like him. He had the vocal control of an Opera Singer. He is singing his face off and they like "ho hum..."

Not to mention one of the most beautiful voices in the history of Gospel Music. What a velvety baritone he had.

This is a rare privlege. I remember the day she died. I was in my college dorm room and the guy across the hall stopped over and told me the sad news. I said, "you're kidding!" He said, "I don't kid about death." I knew a new chapter in life had started: America had lost an ambassador of love and a great artist.

That was a pivotal decade: America had a dramatic cultural shift. Thank God for Mahalia. She had a severe heart attack in that year in the summer and it was the beginning of her health struggles. That happened about 2 months or 3 before this was televised. She ended up losing about a hundred pounds by 1967 in the Spring.
