Hi! Not sure if you ever do this but, to help the puff pastry puff up more, cool down the mixture first or else the butter in the pastry melts before it hits the oven. Also, higher temp in the oven will break the water in the butter more so it puffs up!

Whenever i am under the weather that’s the only time i get to watch tv and my comfort is to watch cooking shows esp. yours. Just watched you cooking chicken pastel looks wow! soo yummy! Our family’s version is pork pastel naman.:) we marinate the pork (menudo cut) with chiz whiz naman, then what we have aside from potatoes, carrots and sausages are water chestnuts and pork liver. Share lang po but i always love watching your family cook! Even ms. Julia’s pasta telefono! Looking forward to-your very own recipe cook book, heirloom recipe of yours! Luv u ms Marj!

Your version of chicken pastel was superb. The ingredients are simple but you did it very creamy and the wrapper sorry Marj I misheard that wrapper before you baked it. Is it included in the recipe.
