Dirk is a class act! Nothing makes me happier than seeing him win that ring playing against the 3-headed monster that was Miami. No one game Mavs a chance. Dirk led a team of role players against 3 superstars and won a title. Congrats!

As another person said, this doesnt apply to every team. For example, Portland. Lillard should have left when his last contract was up. He can talk "loyalty" all he wants, but he'll be retiring without a ring and wishing that he left when its all said and done.

@@FrancisJoa Giannis is literally the better player already. Much more dominant in both sides of court. 2x MVP, 1x DPOY, and 1 Finals MVP. Still in his prime, and got many years to go. Giannis is already the best European basketball player in the history of NBA. Dirk was there, but Giannis took the throne.

@@jckdnls9292 Giannis is totally dependend on his physical abilities which when he will get older will disappear. Nowitzki on the other hand was NEVER depended on his athletic. He was mainly a great shooter which Giannis isn´t. Just watch what happened to Shaq O`Neal, Blake Griffin or Deandre Jordan when they lost their athletic. They became average at best. And btw. Nowitzki is ranked 4th in terms of games played (1522) and is ranked 6 place with 31560 points in terms of all time scoring. Gianis will not surpass him in both categories because he will not have such a long dominant career.

Man I grew up watching Dirk throughout my whole childhood all the way to a young adult...Dirk was truly GREAT and he is definitely the best Dallas Maverick to ever play for that organization..He deserves that statue in front of the stadium..The Mavericks would have never won that championship if it wasn't for Dirk...So yes Mark Cuban owes him big time..Because Dirk gave Mark Cuban a championship for his team and that is priceless..That Ring will make Mark Cubans legacy as an NBA team owner...So Mark is being very respectful for giving Dirk his flowers while he's still around...

Dirk in his prime was an insane shooter. He was a big guy that can shoot anywhere on the court. Unlike some player like LaBrick having to join super teams to win championships. He won it on his team.

Greatest big man of all-time. He took huge salary cuts just to keep those playoffs teams together. Selfless. Even when he was winding down in his career, and the team was in a rebuild, he stayed to tutor the new guys.
