I honestly think if you're cited for eye gouging you should be automatically banned, and have criminal charges filed against you...It's interesting that people can commit very serious, and dangerous assaults on a sport's field and not go to court...but eye gouging..nah, fucking disgusting...they go!

SpiltSunlight there's been at least 1 soccer player from the English football leaue went to court on charges of assault commited during a league match.

Eye gouge should mean instant life ban.
@elishenoy64777 жыл бұрын
Paulie Jay that's too extreme
@drServitis7 жыл бұрын
Not too extreme at all. Very easy to blind someone when intentionally eye gouging. All players should know never to do it, and a life ban law would be just the thing to prevent any temptation.

Bobby Thompson most referees ignore it. Part of the game.

I don't know about a life ban, a prison sentence would be in order.

Austin friggin Healy "there's nothing in that" re the eye gouge, prat! If that would have been inflicted on him he'd have thrown his dummy out the pram and performed a right tantrum, such an easy player to wind up!!!

Fitting the stereotypical American outlook I have never watched rugby. Randomly ran accross these clips and it is savage. I love it. Of course I didn't like the 'sighting' bit of it but wow. What an interesting game. I applaud how thorough the refs are in their discussion and assessment of penalties. Wish American sports were just as transparent. This new fan will be watching tons of rugby videos. Cheers.

Why are eye gouges acceptable in rugby? I've never seen a red after one.
@gameguru12348 жыл бұрын
Very hard to actually spot for the ref. If they're spotted, automatic red no questions asked
@kieransteele59538 жыл бұрын
They are not acceptable, ever.

Remember this clip was from before the TMO was allowed to look at things like this and issue advice to refs on field. At this time refs only had linesmen's help.

"no, hm, that's just handbags" as it's always repeated in france: there are laws for french players and new ones for british players. how many months took dupuy and attoub for the same crime? oh yeah, 6 months and 1,5 year of bans. how many for cueto? 2 months. speechless...
@networkbike5435 жыл бұрын
The commentator should get a life ban. Fair enough he wants to punch him but why dose he default to an eye gouge, is it normal in rugby.
@emfet2795 жыл бұрын
it's normal for Austin Healy

Eye gouging should be an immediate six month ban. But it's usually seen to be acceptable in rugby.

@zisssssou completely different, im not excusing this eyegouge, its absolutely disgraceful, but in the intent it was kinda in the moment, Dupuy is sneaky litlle shit gouging a first time checking if the ref isnt looking and then gouging a second time.

Can the commentator shut up so we can hear the ref
@grahamjordan10403 жыл бұрын
I wish Healy and all the commentators would shut up while the ref is speaking and why so many of them, sometimes three who all like the sound of their own voices 🤐
@WELLBRAN4 жыл бұрын
Strange when rugby was amateur status there was none of what you get now so much thuggery when there is more coverage to get you sent off . in fact they now do it right in front of refs and linesmen not to mention mouthing it to refs
@samboggetti6 жыл бұрын
Commentators r sooo stupid... Nothing in that - was digging his fingers in his eyes. Send off was a complete joke.
@MartGordon3 жыл бұрын
If brains were dynamite Austin Healy wouldn't have enough to blow off his cap. "There's nothing in that" he says as he's watching Cueto use his fat fingers to provide retina surgery to another player. Eye-gouging is a serious offence and needs to be dealt with in a serious manner so that it gets stamped out of the game (and stamping, don't get me started on that).
