This lecture will explore the strange contrast between the Bible’s warnings against worldliness, and the churches comparative unconcern. Why don’t we preach against this anymore, and do we even know what it is? The lecture should inform the listener that this is a serious issue, and one we cannot safely ignore.

So how true is this message. Its sad that there is not this solid truth preached from every pulpit. There are church's that are very liberal and skirts around important truth's. The law was given so as to point out our sinfulness and our need of a savor. But if missed marks (sin) are never preach and taught then how can we do the will of the Father and become more like the image that we were created from.

You are not going to judge this pastor by just one sermon. Pastor Dever was invited to this conference and talked about this topic. He had to stick to this topic than preach the whole bible. He is a good pastor to my opinion. He is human too just remember that. You are too, are you not? We all need a savior, at least I know I do.

Sister, I don't think he's judging Pastor Dever. He is affirming his boldness in preaching such a commonly ignored passage from the scripture. He said "Its sad that there is not this solid truth preached from every pulpit." I think he was stating a sad reality among "evangelical" churches nowadays. Pastor Dever is just amazing!

Sadly, 9 years later and most physical churches are full of more worldliness than ever. Dever's comment on the "worldliness of non-attendance" was quite hilarious. Those called out are truly called out, even out of those so-called "churches."

Worldliness is alive and well in many churches, smoking no problem, a little totty here and there no problem, going to the beach, movies, no problem. A ton of makeup, a shoe collection the envy of any worldly woman, Once upon a time all of that and so much more was scandalous in most churches. But her in these last hours of the last days, Matthew 24:24 (KJV) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. They will defend all that and more and scream how dare you judge them,

Jonathan Grandt, may I ask why it seems that way to you? If you are saying he thinks Believers have wicked hearts, he didn’t. The Bible does say unbelievers all have wicked unbelieving hearts. I may have misunderstood your comment but he did talk about signs we can use to test whether we are truly in the faith or not.

I am disappointed in the direction Dever has taken. He has shown himself to be a liberal. I no longer listen to him preach.
