At 9-0, Mark Gastineau needed only 3 more wins to fight Big George Foreman. Problem was Tim "Doc" Anderson didn't get the memo or just didn't care! Anderson knocked down and physically beat up Gastineau for five rounds It was literally embarrassing. Rick "Elvis" Parker, "The architect of this and many other fixed fights such as Randall "Tex" Cobb vs. Buddy Barch
and most if not every Gastineau fight" Was LIVID after the Gastineau Anderson bout. In fact sources said Anderson was later poisoned during the rematch that Parker made sure of the outcome. This left Tim extremely sick and while trying to get Rick admitting on the poison so he would be able to find out why he was so sick and barely able to walk. On April 20, 1995 Tim Anderson unloaded six shots, then reloaded into Elvis. Ending Parker's life. Quite a story and sad one at that
Thus ends the last known era of Professional fight fixing.

I remember when our local news mentioned Gastineau's pro debut against Derrick Dukes, who I was familiar as I wrestler and I was thinking, "What is he doing boxing?". A few years later, I saw this report. It made sense.

Paul Barch (Mall Cop) took some absolutely vicious blows in that first fight. If he was going to throw the fight, why did he take 10 brutal haymakers to the face from Cobb?

And all these years later, nothing has changed. In the really big fights they get to the judges. Same result and we put up with it. Or at least I had put up with it. I've been done for a good while.

They don't have to "get to" the judges. The judges and refs are a small clique of well-connected people who WANT to be bribed. One of the famous judges is literally named "Tim Cheatem"!

He was supposed to be Ali's final opponent. But, he got hurt in training. So, the fight went to Berbick

well it's his god damn fault for being involved with this mess, his sister was threaten to get killed, he didn't take the dive, got poison because of all that, that money he was given to take the dive, only to ruin the pay day, he should of stayed the hell out of this shady crap, it was his god damn fault he was in jail, and I'm sure he regrets being involved with all this.

Yes I can see fights being fixed but also there's fighter who don't want to say.i am just not that good and don't train that hard and they get beat bad

I woul not say this openig fight was fixed because he was hit hard enough to go down. It looked to me to be a real bad mis match. Why would Tex Cobb want this fight to be fixed when he could win legit?

Especially since he never seemed to be doing it for he money or fame. While filming in either North or South Carolina, he disappeared for a couple days. Turns out that he left the shooting location and drove to Nashville to fight on short notice. When asked why he fights for peanuts when he is making more as an actor, he genuinely didn't seem to understand the question. He just liked to fight.

Fighting untalented fighters is not a fixed fight! It’s how boxing builds skills and experience! Something that mma should do so guys are not fighting top level fighters before they are ready. If you base talent and skill as a deserving fighter than everyone boxing today is a fixed fight since none would last one round with boxers of the 90s back to the 20s!

Fighting untalented fighters shouldn't happen either. They don't get skill from that, they get skill from sparring against much more talented opponents. Fighting untalented fighters is just to build hype. A better way would be for commissions to put ALL fighters who compete or are scheduled to compete in their country into groups: A, B, C, D, E, etc. Fighters can only compete against someone of their group. Then if you get three wins in a row in your group, you MUST move up to the next group. If you get three losses in a row, you MUST move down.

Big van vader was working the japan territory and was at the tyson and douglas fight. He went up to the ring to snap a picture. He went back to his seat and totally pale like a ghost told them that tyson said to douglas " now" and down went Tyson

Tyson KO’d Douglas a few rounds earlier , but for a very slow “10” count by the ref. You need to explain why Tyson almost took Douglas’ head off , if the “fix was in” 🤷‍♂️

to the contrary - the promoter swapped our andersons corner guys for his own goons, and they literally POISONED him. it left him with long term health problems, which led to him eventually taking revenge and killing the sleazebag. he was sentenced to prison for the fatal shooting. def look it up its all online
