Mark loves the fans as much as they love him. In the years when star wars was out of the public consciousness (1984 - 1997) he said they always supported him, would attend any plays he did etc. He never took this for granted and is always open to them.

Not necessarily! I was engaged in the David Prowse Darth Vader motions as James Earl Jones voiced Darth Vader's fictional character as being a believable character (action sequences)! Many characters made many people associate differently. Carrie Fisher in her own. Harrison Ford in his own. Peter Mayhew in his own. Ian McDermott (Emperor Palpatine) in his own, etc. People loved the Boba Fett character (or loved to hate) so much it seemed as if George Lucas' Star Wars stories could do no wrong! Okay maybe a little with the campy Ewoks that seemed out of place up to then.

Hamill is one of the best Jokers ever, but even he admits Troy Baker doing the Joker was amazing. And it was. But then, it too was based on Hamill's performance. Which arguably means he is still the best Joker, since so many base their portrayals off of his.

+2lemonades Yeh i think Shatner threw a real hissy when Nimoy was given a chance to direct and he did the search for spock, then the voyage home. I think that really pissed off Shatner cause he directed one then, and it became "anything you can do, i can do better" feels.

I love Mark Hamill. I also love Star Wars, more before Disney acquired it, but I still love it. I will remember him for not only Luke, but the voice of the Joker. He has incredible voice acting skills as well. I think his voice for the Joker was the best voice for the villain. Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix played him amazingly, but Mark has the best voice for him.

If I had to meet one international actor in person in my life, it would be Mark. First thing I would say is "thank you for respecting the fans so much, thank you for not letting us down and saying what needed to be said about SW:TFA and TLJ." Our childhood heroes were treated in such a bad way and by saying it yourself, you helped everyone accept that we will never get the movies we all dreamed of having for 30+ years., you shared the pain with us. Great actor, wonderful man!

What an amazing person. He is so energetic and in such a great form. He had so much more to give to Star Wars. How spectacularly stupid of Rian Johnson and LucasFilm in under-using him so much, and killing him off so soon. Old fans don’t care anymore for episode 9.
