THERE'S A WURLITZER IN THE BASEMENT:
Model trains aren't the only thing lurking in the basement of Larry Fenner and Barry Howard's home in Lebanon, PA. The "Style 260" Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ (Opus 501), originally built in 1922 for the Lafayette Theatre in Buffalo, NY, is their lifelong dream brought to fruition from over ten years of restoration. Built to accompany silent films and fill a huge 3,000-seat theatre with a symphony of sound, this "beautiful beast" roars from the basement of their home into a large living room. Organist Mark Herman demonstrates its versatility as a musical powerhouse.

Larry and Barry. your Wurlitzer is spectactulor. Mark is the tops. He blends with your Wurlitzer perfectly. Plus Mark is one of the nicest people ever met.

I can imagine having a Wurlitzer in the basement. It's a great dream,... Meanwhile in reality, I do have Hammonds in the house. Eventually plan to have a 4 manual Hauptwerk console for pipe and theatre organ. Great organ played by a great organist of our time. Cheers!

Hauptwerk is a dream of mine too. I almost bought a little Baldwin Cinema organ but it was sold before I could work out transportation of the console :(

@@Charles-Reardon I'm considering building my own 4 manual console, I have four Nektar Impact G61 MIDI controllers and powered MIDI hub. The challenge is finding a pedal clavier with 32-notes, radiating, concave, AGO, with at least 1-2 swell pedals that all work over USB. If I had the money, I'd order a Hauptwerk console from Mixtuur! Cheers!

What a spectacular installation. Most of us would never hear it save for this kind of program. Mark, the program was outstanding, as always. I especially enjoyed the medley from The King & I. I consider this some of the finest writing from R & H. Sometime, if you are so inclined, I would love to hear you do a medley from Rose Marie.

Yes I like the Wurlitzer. Over some time we have a theater with also a big Wurlitzer. The company vd Veer is working on it.

Mark Herman, "The Wizard of Wurlitzer". Bro, you are a genius at arranging. I feel so inferior. Who is the Miniature Train enthusiast? You or someone else? Have you studied Louis Vierne's Organ Symphonies. The second symphony is a favorite of mine. I suppose all organists have to study the classics first before delving into popular standards. For technique if nothing else. Yes?

Don't know if this will be read but worth a shot. Hi Mark, I work in an aged care facility and the ones I care for love having a sing a long to instrumental music. Is there any possibility that one of your fantastic concerts could be made up of well known worldwide singalong songs for not only my resi's to enjoy but people in care all around the world. Thanks

Hast nen sehr nettes Lächeln an Dir bist nicht so ernst und gibst Dich so wie Du bist war.Des finde ich klasse an Dir.Viele sind ernst auch wenn se sprechen schade kann ken Englisch.De Hobby Organistin Monika Gemany Deutschland bin großer Orgel Fan.Ich habe meine Orgel alleine einstudiert es war sehr schwer solch Instrument zu lernen ohne Musikstudium.Mir macht es sehr Spaß an meine Instrumente zu spielen.Am Keaybort und Akkodeon spiele ich auch.💒💒💒💒💒💒💒💒💒💒💒💒💒💒💒💒⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
