While Mark falling asleep and almost ruining the entire mission definitely wasn't the right thing to do, I like that it shows Mark still doesn't fully grasp the responsibility he has as a hero. Because he might kinda get it, but he doesn't *fully* get it, considering he's so young and it definitely shows. It's a well written character flaw.

I don’t think Eve was trying to plant any doubt AT ALL in Marks mind about Amber. I think she was actually trying to be a good friend & make sure Mark isn’t being a douche and leading her on!!! Eve is a girls girl, and she obviously knows what it’s like to be lead on by a man who’s supposed to care about you.

Honestly, the most unrealistic element of this entire series is that despite living in a world where superheroes, aliens, robots, mutants, & demons all exist, somehow Mark was able to travel to Mars & back in just 2 weeks without any food or water.

Alright we got the Mars mission today! And I’m not about to pass up a chance to talk about fun space stuff. So it’s common for Superhero shows to have them go to other planets or other dimensions but normally they’re contained in just a single biome that probably wouldn’t reflect an entire planet, or a different dimension just being New York, but it’s New Amsterdam. Invincible actually took into account just how freaking far you can go. Or rather how ridiculous it is to get to Mars. The best NASA can manage these days is land rovers in tighter and tighter circles on Mars that are like several miles across. (Curiosity was 4x5 mile landing site. That’s ENORMOUS and the tightest we’ve gotten so far. Because if we ever hope to land on Mars ourselves, we gotta have a really tight coordinate where we can land and take off from before Mars and Earth are no longer aligned in orbit with Earth’s year being much shorter than Mars’. (Which is why we likely won’t see a Mars landing in our lifetime as exciting as that would be) It’s such a gigantic risk to align these orbits it would hands down be one of the craziest things people could accomplish on their own. Literally a 2 week trip even with Superheroes because although it’s the closest planet to us, it’s just so ridiculously far away anyhow. Aaaaaaand then you throw in that Mars has Not-Martian Manhunter and other planets kinda have us beat. Throw in really weird planet specific monsters and fighting like you’re on earth and use earth logic with literal planetary different customs and evolution. (And if there’s no agreement on OUR planet, heck not country, heck not neighborhood on how things should be run, GOOD LUCK with ANOTHER planet customs) And we say yeah f- this I’m out I’m taking my astronauts home and say hey we got our footprints here we’re good. With a side of haha…introducing new species to habitats ordinarily completely changes the structure and balancing of all the creatures there. Whoops! I’m sure everything’s fine. Just look at the Dodo! People have done great taking care of….well maybe the other…large number of animals people have kinda wiped off the face of the earth. We’re good. We got cloning now. Well I’m sure mars rocks are perfectly ok. (Love that Mark tells Amber don’t show this to geologists or anyone that knows anything about rocks) Yayyyyy science. What else is there. Darkblood investigates til he’s sent back to hell, Nolan literally hyper focuses on a date with dragons and missiles everywhere, Robot has a blood sample of Rex, the Mauler OG we’ll call him is building his next clone, and Mark comes home to Nolan and Debbie…putting their lamp back on the table. Well. Nothing to see here. We’re fine. I just need to clean out whatever Clancy Brown echo has left behind. (I miss him already)
