How do you mix colors so naturally? For example, the character's skin color. I always make a mess

Thank you for your comment! ❤️⭐️ Achieving natural color mixing can be challenging, but with the right approach, it's definitely possible. When aiming for soft tones, it's best to choose colors that are closer in shade to create smooth gradients. The selection of marker sets plays a crucial role in this process. While general marker sets offer a wide range of colors, they might not always meet your specific artistic needs. That's why I recommend considering a professional color set alongside an additional set of softer hues. By having a set of 120 markers with a variety of colors and adding a 48-marker set specifically designed for subtle shades, I'm able to fulfill most of my painting requirements. This combination allows me to explore a broader range of grayscale and lighter tones in my artwork. Remember, practice and experimentation are key to mastering color mixing. Don't worry if mistakes happen along the way; they are part of the learning process. Keep exploring and enjoying the creative journey! ☺️

The fact that you free handed this … you are so gifted. I love how you put this together and the angles . It would be so hard to do this from just the top looking down because of needing to look at your work from a reasonable distance to colour in. Love you video!

Oh my goodness, this is so beautiful and ethereal with all the soft and light colours. Very well done!! 😍✨ I can’t believe you dared to go in with a black liner, no wobbly lines or odd contrast!! That’s so brave, honestly and it really tied it together even more. I enjoyed the camera angles btw. 🥳

Absolutely beautiful ❤ Can I ask you an important question for a beginner? I see you using your markers over your graphite pencil sketch. I have been told to never do that because graphite damages the nibs of the markers. Can you give me your opinion/experience on this ? It would be awesome to know 😊 thank you a lot.

Thank you for your question! 🎨 I appreciate your attention to detail. You are correct; using markers directly over a graphite sketch can potentially damage the marker nibs. Additionally, the graphite may smear and mix with the marker ink, resulting in unwanted effects. To avoid this issue, I have developed a solution that works for me. After finishing my pencil sketch, I erase the pencil marks lightly, leaving only the faintest lines that I can still see. This way, there is minimal risk of graphite smudging or damaging the marker nibs. As you can see in my videos, the pencil marks are barely visible when I start coloring with markers. I hope this answer helps and gives you some ideas on how to approach this issue as a beginner. Keep practicing, and don't be afraid to experiment with different techniques! 🌟

Thanks a lot for your answers. This must be a solution, I’ll try this 😊 I actually put some fineliners over the pencil to fix it into the page and prevent any damage on the nibs. But I find this technique very restrictive, like you can’t change the colors along the way… I will follow your advice and I thank you a lot for taking the time and care to answer me. And yes, I looked at your video with attention 😉 your artwork is so beautiful and skilled that it deserves it ❤ take care

Si bien los juegos de marcadores generales ofrecen una amplia gama de colores, no siempre cumplen con tus necesidades artísticas específicas. Por eso recomiendo considerar un juego de colores profesional junto con un juego adicional de tonos más suaves. Con un juego de 120 marcadores con una variedad de colores y agregando un juego de 48 marcadores diseñado específicamente para tonos sutiles, puedo satisfacer la mayoría de mis necesidades de pintura. Esta combinación me permite explorar un rango más amplio de grises y tonos más claros en mi obra. Recuerda, la práctica y la experimentación son clave para dominar la mezcla de colores. No te preocupes si cometes errores en el camino; son parte del proceso de aprendizaje. ¡Sigue explorando y disfrutando el viaje creativo!
