I still maintain Unti Dawn had the best Premonition mechanic. You understood premonitions so much better and it told you whether they were good or bad ones. It also unlocked part of the story and I'm so disappointed they took that mechanic away in future games. I also missed the mechanic where it mattered how you treated everyone. Like it UD where if Chris treated Ashley poorly she wouldn't let him in the house and he would die. Those kinds of chores were great. They made the game feel more immersive

the frames of the photos show if it's good or bad. black frame = death white frame = bad choices/outcomes gold frame = sneak peek for next game

@@chicknbisque taking into consideration all of the games' different uses of the premonitions, i made my own descriptions for each frame type: • white: shows the player an outcome or situation that could or will happen; sometimes the situation or outcome depicted is good, and sometimes it is bad; usually can be trusted, although little hope's "exorcism" premonition is an outlier • black: shows the player a character death, like man of medan's "in the offing"; or a situation in which the character depicted may die, like in little hope's "human sacrifice" and "familiars" premonitions; or a situation in which the character is doomed to die if that situation plays out, in the case of little hope's "dark magic" premonition • gold: shows a scene from the next game in the installment; oftentimes shows a character in a dangerous situation(like "rope", "hotel", and "spaced") or an outright death(like "a little hope")

This is based on an actual urban legend of the Ourang Medan, a merchant ship that disappeared near Indonesia in 1947. It's name is Indonesian for "Man of Medan".

The Silver Star (an actual American ship) was the first responder to a series of distress signals sent out by the Ourang Medan. Upon arriving, the Star's crew found everyone aboard the Medan dead, frozen in death in positions of fear and horror. The cause of death is unknown, as the Medan exploded shortly after the Star began trying to tow it to shore for an inspection. While the Silver Star was a real ship, some people believe the story itself was made up by the crew members, especially since the Ourang Medan conveniently left no evidence behind to show its existence, right down to no nearby ports showing boat records for a ship with such a name, and no wreckage being found after the explosion.

Shaggy, Destroyer of Worlds honestly Mark is the only one I want to watch play this game because he actually tries to be thorough and desperately doesn’t want anyone to die... where as Felix just does things and watches the chaos, that’s just not my style. He killed Until Dawn for me so I decided to buy the game and play it myself instead. Then compared how I did with how Mark did.

well theyre also soldiers, you mention yourself. as a soldier you grow apathetic and dull to that type of stuff. i do agree though, the characters are, like mark said, seem like robots trying to be human. im very disappointed in this game

@@7devils660 Yeah, seems a little scratchy to me, but this is a sequal (ech) and generally second productions are not the best but the plot and the story seems well planned out, hopefully they will see the commentary and will adjust the next game as needed. I feel this game was rushed, laggy textures and chunky movements and delayed audio, I think they could have spent another year on it and the quality would be similar or even better than UD. But thats me.

And WTF, not reporting to their battle stations, nor their assigned commanding officer(s), nor ANY officers for that matter, nor helping any of their comrades who'd they all know having served together. When you're serving in the military (especially on a ship) you'd all have very specific duties and functions practiced over and over again, especially for emergencies. So unrealistic.

I’ve been rewatching and watching The dark pictures anthology games and even though this one is definitely the worst, I’m still at least watching my favorite KZfaqrs play it and see a few different things. Legit I liked the two random guys at the start better than half the actual main characters

Actual diver here, you cant skip decompression stops because you have a re-breather. Decompressing is allowing built up nitrogen that absorbs into your tissues to be released in a controlled manner. Nitrogen builds up more the deeper and longer you dive, having a re-breather can decrease the deco (decompression) time by increasing the oxygen and decreasing the nitrogen in gas that you breathe, flushing out the nitrogen. You cant just skip this. Doing so will cause the nitrogen in your blood to form bubbles inside your body, as you can imagine this causes absolute chaos. The bubbles often get stuck at your joints where the veins are thinner due to their constant bending, causing the joints to seize up. It can also cause constant vomiting, nausea, even (temporary if treated) blindness and in worst case scenarios, death. This is called DCI or decompression illness. The only treatment is to go to a hospital with a re-compression chamber where they pressurise the air around you to simulate being back down at the depth you were at when you ascended too fast, causing the nitrogen to be reabsorbed into the bloodstream, then they slowly decompress you to let the nitrogen out in a controlled way. This is the only treatment and it is the only cure. No matter what equipment you are using, if you miss deco stops, you are very likely to get DCI. The only optional stop is at 6 metres, its called a safety stop and no matter how far you go down you should always do it. If you skip it (in cases of emergency) chances are you're gonna be fine, but its still better to do it as it is when your body releases the most nitrogen. You cant just skip a deco stop, you will end up in hospital for days, you might die, its not fun and its not worth it.

It’s been a long ass time since I’ve watched any gaming content besides SuperMega, and I just clicked on this just to see, and I’m getting some mad nostalgia right now. In 7th grade, I watched Mark play Until Dawn as the episodes were coming out, and that was a very difficult time in my life, so that series was like a get away. I graduate high school in a couple of months, so it’s just wild to be watching Mark play a game that was made by the Until Dawn folks. Time is a wild thing man.

Supermassive Games really did themselves dirty with Until Dawn; every game they’ve made since in a similar style has been quite a letdown, particularly Hidden Agenda. Watching play throughs of that game and all the bugs and lazy storytelling at the end really got to me

i think i remember why i disliked the 1st few episodes of Mark playing Until Dawn because he makes joke in very little things and makes the gameplay really dragging.Even John's playthrough isn't that obnoxious and he's the most critical horror player I've known.Although i agree w/ Mark the facial expressions are very uncanny but so was Until Dawn didn't really see any difference there,so is the dialogue.
