Love this. I find people's credit journeys to be very fascinating. Please make a video with the inactive cards. I find credit cards very interesting and I don't care how long the videos ends up being. I love long credit card videos. Brian Jung had an hour long video and I was riveted. Bring it on. 😆

I'm active military and pay $0 in fees on all credit cards, and I still can't justify having a lot of cards. I can never remember to buy food on the plane and every year I end up with about $0 in airline incidental and food spend. Also I find myself end up eating crappy food and ordering from the food delivery services just because I have credit cards. I also end up forgetting which cards do what. One thing I did was transfer Chase points to United and book two trips to Panama and Mexico this year, so that worked well. I'm sitting here not being able to justify a lot of cards even though I pay no annual fees and this dude is justifying over six grand in annual fees lol

Hey Mark, I wanted to say thank you for putting effort and sharing your credit cards journey video for us. You got all your viewers going wild. You set the bar extremely high, now I'm curious how many credit cards does Ask Sebby or Ben Hedges have since they been in the credit cards game for a long time. This video was absolutely valuable, detail, and informative for credit cards enthusiast. After seeing your 41 credit cards, it felt like you present everyone your Pokemon cards collection or Yugioh deck. I have an idea, if you ever collaborate with Ask Sebby in the future, you guys should have credit cards dual (Yugioh reference). Lastly, I would love to see your inactive/closed cards.

Just one comment regarding pickup orders on delivery apps (DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber eats): many restaurants will list menu prices that are higher in those apps than if you were to order pickup directly from them (since these apps can take up to a 30% commission from restaurants, and restaurants will offset them by listing higher prices on those apps). With that in mind, your food credits from those delivery apps can be worth less (even without delivery fees/tips) due to inflated menu prices, depending on where you order from. This whole video is very fascinating though and I find it interesting how you justify such big fees. Thanks for breaking everything down!

Mark flexing his Yugioh Cards in this video xD. A video on inactive cards would be awesome, since many people always fall into the myth of closing no fee cards is bad. Thats really only true if its either short term early on the journey and/or one of the foundation slots (first 3-5 cards)

Mark, This is a awesome video I love this buddy. I want to see a video on what you cancelled lol.. that would be cool. I have about 25 cards ranging from store cards to major cards. No Amex, chase, B of A, pnc. All are from cap one, us bank, Wells Fargo, some are secured cards some earn cashback. I do plan on getting rid of ones that have no rewards. I love cards to be honest. Can't wait to get the better big boy ones.

Holy crap that's a lot of cards! Ive got a lot of low limit cards that have annual fees but Im slowly getting better cards to replace them with as time goes on. I currently pay about $800 in annual fees for $23,000 in total available credit which is almost the same percentage as someone who pays $6000 for $300,000 in total available credit. You however, get a lot of rewards for your money where as I only have 5 rewards cards and they arent that great.

Awesome video Mark! Appreciate you sitting down and going through each and every one in detail and the story behind them. It was very informative and you've been such a good guidance in my own credit card journey! But one thing I will ask, and it's the reason I don't get annual fee cards is this; if you didn't get the credit cards for the bonus/credits they give you from the annual fee, would you still actually do said activities? For example, if your card gives you $500 back a year in hotel credits, but you didn't have the card, would you still go to the hotel? If not, then aren't you essentially still paying for it? Unless it's for work or something, I don't really understand why people do things like this.
@MarkReese
@MarkReese 2 жыл бұрын
Yep, I'd still take 4-6 trips per year even if I had 0 credit cards ✈️ So paying a $450 annual fee for that Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card makes sense for me. Since having it, I've gotten around $700+ of value each year even without the first-year welcome bonus. So you can think of annual fee cards like getting a discount on things you'd normally pay for. That's why buying things in bulk at Costco / Sam's Club / BJs can make sense vs. buying things individually or in small quantities.

@MarkReese

I did back in 2021, here's the link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bJlmiaeq1K3XnYE.html For Walmart, you'll likely want to look into the Walmart Capital One Credit Card. For gas, you'll likely want to look into the Citi Custom Cash & use it only for gas.

Hi Emil - I do not have a list of which banks do vs. do not allow this. That said, product changes with many of the major issuers are possible: Chase, Amex, Citi, Capital One, Bank of America, and others. If you have cards you want to change, simply call the bank to see what your options are.
