Kettlebells freaking RULE. My Gf bought me - after I told her how much I love the bells, I've already lifted weights for over 35 years - a 30, a 35 and a 15. She said she saw the difference in my thighs and butt within 3 weeks, doing the deadlifts. Good luck to all, great video!

Heavy Kettlebells are like Bitcoin, if you got in early you are fine. I bought a pair of 100,125,150,175 and 200 lb kettlebells back in 2008 from New York Barbell Company for $1.25 per pound and they shipped the to me for $100. They asked me what i was going to do with them, i said swings, goblet squats, suitcase deads but most of all farmers carries. The 150 lb today is $400 with free shipping. I got 2-150s for $375 back in 2008.

I seem to h ave come up against a wall when using heavier bells, so am working with 8s + 10kgs. Is the effect the same? I deadlift a bit heavier, but notice that my body at 81 years old is not as “strong” as previously. Had a stress fracture in my tibia, and now pain in my arm. I put it down to osteoarthritis. I’m still working out and doing more than 100swings per workout plus snatches, clean & press etc. Suitcase deadlifts are good. I am still a fan of your work. Thank you.

He's got a light clubs programme coming out, many stories about people healing shoulders with clubs. Maybe you could give that kind of rehab a shot. I had a recurring shoulder weakness that I couldn't shake, would constantly flare up or reinjure it ( with kettlebells a couple of times ). Heavy clubs have sorted it out 85% I'd say, my theory is the rotational movement worked on the scartissue but i've no idea ! going on 2 years now and it doesn't give me pain anymore. Mark mentions Indian clubs to someone in comments also, for injury rehab, same 'light' club work to start with

@lwmarti
@lwmarti 4 ай бұрын
I've never had back or pelvis issues from insane amounts of burpees. On the other hand, it definitely took my knees and elbows a while to adapt to them. They'd start to complain at around sets of 150 to 200. Now that I'm focusing on clubs and kettlebells, I've backed off to a relatively sane set of 100, twice a week. But adapting to the huge anerobic/aerobic load that they put on your body is definitely interesting. The first six weeks or so of burpees causes an extreme level of discomfort/suffering, but once your body adapts, they're just like any other exercise.

Advice needed, my weekly routine at the moment consists of an upper body day, a lower body day and a day or 2 of grappling with a run thrown in somewhere. I would like to incorporate a kettlebell workout somewhere, do you think it would be best to throw in some swings at the end of the lower body session or have a seperate day where i do a circuit training KB workout involving swings, squats and presses? Just trying to work out what is best as i do not want to overtrain but i do also feel like im missing out by not using kettlebells. Thanks

i dont think selling a double suitcase deadlift as the second excersize is the way forward when talking about the cheapest entry in to lifting weights. If i had to buy 2x16 kettlebells in my first week i would have been put off, ~£30-45 for a 16kg is super affordable.. double that and its a much bigger commitment for many. Worth thinking about, I really appreciate the videos mark.

Disagree. The easiest way to get into shape, the fastest, for the least amount of money is with a barbell and plates. Endurance weightlifting can be achieved with a barbell. The barbell can be better loaded. Smaller increments. Higher loading potential. The barbell is better for explosive strength. The barbell is better for speed strength. The barbell is better for strength. The barbell is better for hypertrophy. Kettlebells are like the sprinkles on top of the cake. They are not the sponge.
