I just recently picked one up at a pawn shop and it is obvious that a gun smith did work to it considering how smooth the bolt is and how smooth, light, and crisp the trigger is. There is no way it came from the factory like that. I'm sorry about your father and I'm glad you got your rifle back.

I have the model 20 with a gopher stock.

I had a Marlin 15y when i was a kid in 1964. Had a cocking knob . I never see them on youtube with the cocking knob. Came from K Mart for a whopping eighteen dollars . It was stolen . I have not been able to find it anywhere.
