Hands All Over for me is an alright album. Its not a bad album, nor is it a great album. But it does not come close to the magic that Songs About Jane had in my opinion. For me that album is the perfect combination between groovy soul music and the mainstream appeal from pop.-music that the Songs About Jane album had. :)

As a person who's literally listened to Maroon 5 there whole life, thanks to my mom (Songs About Jane was only a year old when I was born) its so sad to see what they've became now. I miss the guitars and the bass, especially the songs not sounding lazy. This album is amazing, and I really hope M5 realizes that and goes back to it.

I'm Marooner and I love every Maroon 5 song even Don't Wanna Know, but my favorite album is It Won't Be Soon Before Long, and I think is the best, because it has different kind of songs, sad songs like Better That We Break, Back At Your Door, Nothing Last Forever, Won't Go Home Without You, powerfull songs like Little Of Your Time, Wake Up Call, Can't Stop, it has songs with so good solo guitars like Kiwi in the outro or Figure It Out, it has songs with a good and different bass like Makes Me Wonder, Until You're Over Me or Miss You, Love You, a good featuring with a good singer Rihanna (If I Never See Your Face Again), songs with a remix of a famous DJ (Tiësto in Not Falling Apart) and I think that this album has 3 of the best songs ever of Maroon 5 (Story, Goodnight Goodnight and Losing My Mind), and the videos of the album are so awesome with a good stories, I really love this album. ❤

You really need to do a review of Adam's first band "Kara's flowers" and their only album "The Fourth world". The album was made when they first got out of high school. It would be an interesting review because it sounds so different from his recent projects in maroon 5. Also, I prefer his early stuff more than the stuff he makes today.

Songs About Jane is one of my favorite albums. Maroon 5 used to be really good, I wish the would write music like they used to. Hands All Over had it's moments for me, but after they released Moves like Jagger, they really went downhill. It just seems every song/album they put out gets worse and worse. It would be cool to see a review of It Won't Be Soon Before Long, definitely a close second to SAJ for me as well.

I feel pretty much exactly the way you do about this album. Loved it when it came out. Grew to hate Maroon5 slowly over the years, but still really enjoyed this one whenever I came back to it, and lamented the loss of their "band" identity. Honestly, I could see that starting to happen even as early as It Won't Be Soon Before Long, which I didn't enjoy as much as it sounds like you did, outside of a few tracks. Hands All Over briefly won me back. It was formulaic (Misery was pretty much This Love all over again), but song for song it was a lot more listenable. (Before they re-released it with Moves Like Jagger because its existing singles apparently weren't exciting anybody. God, I hate that stupid song.) Then they went down the crapper for good with Overexposed and V. I doubt they'll ever recover.

The best album from Maroon 5. This album and the one that came out in 2007, where the best music from them. The "Hands All Over" album from 2010 was alright but did not have the same groove as the albums that came out before that. Since 2010 though their music have become so boring and genetic that they have lost their identity as a band. And now Maroon 5 is more a brand for Adam Levine than it is a real band. The only reason that Maroon 5 still makes hit singels, and have succesful albums that sell well to the public, is that they follows every trend that is popular in the moment, rather than having a real musical identity (which they had in the beginning of their career). For me Maroon 5´s first couple of albums will always be special to me. But the later ones, does not really have the same magic than the first couple of albums had. Thats really a shame I think.

Please do 'It Won't Be Soon Before Long' It's arguably the best Maroon 5 album. It's my opinion that IWBSBL is a lot tighter as an album. Also the reason James was added to the band was that the original lead guitarist, Jesse, was now on keyboard so they got James to replace him. But Please do IWBSBL, my favorite song on there is Not Falling Apart, so you might like that

I'm a massive fan of how complete this album is. He (Adam) wasn't lying when he says they had lightning in a bottle. The number of hits this record produced was absurd for a debut. Sunday Morning and Secret are my favorites, but that's to suggest that every track isn't a monster.

You are mistaken. Jesse has been with the band from the beginning. James Valentine was added later as lead guitarist. And I love that every album is different and has been a progression. If they had stayed a "Songs About Jane" band, they would not be with us today. Life moves forward or it stagnates. Good on Maroon 5 for their forward thinking. As for our comments on Adam Levine - what you, obviously, consider as a hijacking of the band by Mr. Levine is something the whole band is perfectly happy with as it has made them very wealthy and allowed them to do what they all love the best - play music for a living for a considerable timeframe (much longer than most bands ever do.) I do love "Songs About Jane", but consider it the start of a journey (which I will continue) with Maroon 5.
