Mystery about Marriage
Marriage is God’s Making!
In Genesis 2:20-22; it is the Lord who made, shaped, and formed Eve for Adam. The implication and application of this is that it is God and not you who can make the person whom you are going to marry. You cannot make a wife or husband for yourself.
Eve was taken from Adam’s side. It was a miracle. That is what marriage is ~a miracle and not a magic. It is because marriage is God’s making. It is what God does. It is what God makes happen. Man-made or self-made marriage will never work.
God is still in the business of making marriages. But you have to trust Him. God could not form and make Eve for Adam, not until he was put to sleep; that is totally depending on God. Depend on God and let Him make your partner for you.
It is not who you want to marry but who God wants you to marry. Therefore, look for your marriage partner in God and in the garden of Eden and not in the club. Don’t choose for God, rather let God choose for you. Leave it to God!
God operated (worked) on Adam before He could bring forth a wife for him. In the same way, God has to work on you before He can bring your partner to you ~His will for you. God has to work on you before He can work on your spouse. It is not only your spouse that needs to be worked upon; it is also you.
Unless God works on you, He cannot work in your marriage. Unless He makes your marriage, your marriage cannot work. Unless He begins it, He cannot sustain it. God can make your marriage work if you involve Him. Involve Him in the planning. Involve Him in the process. Involve Him in the problem.
