Don't let your marriage die, taking care of the kids! You want your marriage to last long after the kids have grown and left the house. You need to spend time having fun together, dating each other, etc.. It takes work. I have been married 18 years, so I speak from experience!
@gailkettles42053 ай бұрын
I agree 100% , being married for 47 years I would say that maintaining the marital relationship is very important ! It is so easy to put things off it takes determination ❤️

Dangnabit! I need to hear the rest of this! I've been a part of your journey since MAFS. I was so happy that you guys wound up together. You took it slow and I loved that.

Here is what you do for each other; you two are married, created a family, watch over your kids and each other, and most important, so far you are there for each other. That is alot for any couple to share and give each other. Marriage has a tendency of numbing those view points if you allow it.
@butterflyforeve3 жыл бұрын
And at different points in a marriage it will look more unbalanced because thats how life goes. Doug may need more care and concern during a time of struggle and others it will shift. My husband has cancer so right now I do so much but I have been sick for a long time and during those times he carried a heavier load. When you start keeping score is when you actual start to build resentment and things become severally unbalanced. Don't keep score just let the ebbs and flows happen and live life the best way you can. It will all balance out and because no one is keeping score it never is brought to the forefront and made a big deal. If one person starts to feel neglected or that the load is too heavy just communicate and tell your partner what you need. Remember expecting your partner to just know or to read your mind is not healthy.

Doug does do a lot but Jaime you are definitely a very loving and caring person. You show Doug how grateful you are for what he does. Don't let these people make you doubt who you are. You grew up completely different that Doug did and I can relate. The touchy feelie will come it took me years to get there. My family never told each other they loved each other. I am very touchy feelie now. My kids never leave my sight without a kiss and a I love you. And you taking care of the babies and all the things you do for the family is showing Doug how grateful you are. He sees you and adores you. I love you guys but I can relate so much with you Jaime, I think you have come a long way from who you were when the show 1st aired. Dougs family and of course Doug and the kids have real shown you what love truly looks like and I know that was something you craved your whole life. You never thought you would have what you have now and I believe you thought you didn't deserve to be happy. I know I pour it on thick but I mean every single word. I have tried to keep up with you guys since seeing you on married because you guys are the only ones I truly saw that were there for the right reasons. I saw the broken Jaime the one that tried so hard to make everyone believe she had her shit together. The one that was gonna show everyone that she was ok no matter what they had done to you in the past. But you were lead to that show because someone had a plan for you and they wanted to show you they were there and they knew your heart. They just needed for you to cross paths with this wonderful man and his amazing parents. I am proud of you Jaime you stuck it out even when everything in you said run. That was your way of dealing with things you put up walls and you ran when it got hard. I know me being proud of you isn't a big deal but I want to make sure you know someone saw you and they know what you were doing. I have been married 30 yrs and you and Doug will make it as long as you keep doing what you are doing, when shit gets hard you dig in and work harder and you don't quit. If I am around when you hit the 30 yr mark I will be celebrating right along with you.

I totally agree with you as i saw them on the first season but im happy for Jamie too what you said is what i would have wrote and as i watched the show i was like if they make the marriage work and Jamie get to know doug she will definitely get her family and she did God bless your union for years to come💕💙💕💙💕💙

It's really cool to see that you take the chance in a backhanded comment to communicate about your relationship. It shows your love and commitment. And your want to make it work continuously

As a postpartum, nursing mom, THAT is what you are doing for your family! You are keeping a baby well fed, and taking care of YOU. Please don’t feel guilt about that. It’s exactly what you should be doing. Doug should be taking care of YOU during this time. Sad to hear him say he couldn’t think of anything. What your body just went through and is going through - mentally and emotionally and physically - is enormous. I hope you take care of you and he appreciates that you taking care of you IS taking care of your family right now. ❤️

Glad to see you guys have such a darling family. Marriage goes thru stages. Toddlers are a stage that everything kinda goes toward the family. But you positive communication. It would be hard to find more sweet partners.

I want to tell Jamie how sweet it was when she got the surprise photographer for Doug. My assumption is that Jamie thought of that herself! My boyfriend and I watched season 1 recently, and I commented to him how thoughtful that was. If you were my wife, I would look forward to surprises like that!

Jamie and Doug I was so excited to see you guys on Dear Christmas. I was screaming "Thats Doug and Jamie" now thats so cool! You all are so amazing. I hope you all have a great holiday season. I have a couple questions Do you have any holiday traditions that you started for your family? If you have another child how likely would you keep the "H" for first name? Love your channel and have been watching your love story from MAFS. #MAFSTrueLove
@katiewingler65123 жыл бұрын
The section about what Jamie could be doing for Doug really hit me hard! I always feel like my partner does so much more for me than I do for him. And he tries to assure me I do enough but I still feel like he does far more! And then when he says he wishes you would be more physical with him, that is what my partner says. It all boils down to love languages. My love language is acts of service so he shows me love by doing extra things for me, and his love language is physical touch. So he would rather do things for me but he would also rather me give him more physical affection rather than doing things for him. So that really helped me put into perspective!

(Johanna, Patrick's wife) I just love evrytime you kiss. So much affection !!! :"") "Future kids are out of luck" 😂😂😂 Nobodys business if you have sex and how often and etc. That's personal. Just hope you don't feel pressured by feeling you have to answer to strangers questions personal moments. Simply stating "we are happy with each other" should be enough. How can people have assumptions when nobody lives in your corner ? I'm a new follower. Was routing you would remain married. I cried when you don't give up and find joy in this relationship. Jamie, don't be son hard on yourself. Doug is very happy with you. I agree with Doug. Its your daily life to show affection. I would put little notes in unexpected areas for my husband to find. Or mail a card to his work day, aiming it for a day of week that I kniw is his worst. Or made a bubble bath with his favorite treat and beer and a sports magazine. (Ready for him as so in as he gets home from work)

Personal preference here. 1. Don't change your current pages name. 2. Should not make a podcast/youtube video at the same time. It was hard to watch, since you talked to each other, but not us.

Goodness, I frequently, often wonder why jamie is so domineering, frequently shuts Doug down, puts him down. This is what you have put out there, what is recorded. BTW, "Henley Hendrix and friends" is the best. But no doubt Jamie will trump.

Im so glad you laid down your pride of his unattractive physicals looks- he would probably treat you better than any man. Inside beauty is better than the outside. you looked pretty on the outside but ugly on the inside on your marriage day- sounds right opposite attracts

You've gotten too many sponsors and other things that have pulled you away from your family and that you owe it to your sponsors etc. Just concentrate on you and Diug and the kids. Forget sponsors, unless they are paying your bills. You can't have it all. You either have your family and work a normal job, or fly from NJ to LA and promote yourselves. Something is going to suffer
