Thanks for this review. I just went for my first ice hockey skate with the Marsblade I2 holder and DLC blade. Incredible feeling, so now I'm looking at their inline products for off ice training. 😊

@DuPraw Powerskating yah I started with the default rocket slat insert (23 ft) and definitely enjoyed the smooth acceleration out of cross overs. It's also a higher steel in terms of height as well as double the quality of what I had on my Bauer Vapors. When I went to 20 ft today for the rocker, you definitely have to check your balance and then commit to the energy return that occurs when your weight goes to the heel. I nearly tripped on my cross overs but managed to find that sweet spot. Your angles also change in terms of your regular approach to say even the circles marked on the ice (classic figute 8 etc). I only skated the last 2 days coaching my sons' hockey teams so nothing too aggressive. Junior A players prefer 23 to 20 ft rocker stars. Anything more and it might be because I'm a heavier guy and/or playing half ice drop in shinney for 45 plus year olds (odd Junior player might join us). So in those situations, the play is way more about agility and maybe requiring more rocker, but I have heard if you add too much rocker it can tire you out a lot. Love them though and I know I'm doing my hips and knees a service.

What size ice skates do you use, and did you get the same size for the Marsblades? What do you use for hockey, CCM, Bauer?

So I'm a Bauer Vapor with the widest foot so I go 6.5 EE. The product specialist at Marsblade put me in a 7.5. It was the only way they could get me the extra space in the front.

@dupraw powerskating....i bought a pair of marsblade last year......my ankles both ankles are killing me....i baked them about 4 times...even got them punched......i never had this issue with any other roller blade or ice skates.....this is not knock on them but this is just my experience with them.......i'ved use them about 6 six times and the pain is always the same....sharp like a knife cutting in both my ankles.....maybe the pair i bought was defective......but like i said i don't experience this pain in any other skates that i have....................

on another note when i decide to suffer with the pain i am able to skate pretty good with them..could do the same things i could do on ice except stop of course....

Holy cow that stinks ...what model did you go with the off-ice trainers or the R1 Kraft Roller hockey. The trainers I have are just heavy... and I ony wear them for about 30 mins. a pop

@@DuPrawPowerskating I just bought the standard one...it just says marsblade on the boot.....it sells for $479 canadian......I know most people just by the skate holder part and use a separate skate boot... but I thought buying it complete with the boot would actually be better...

i always find that when i use my roller hockey skates for a while it makes getting back on the ice really awkward and hurts my feet. do you think these would help with that? i want to work on my skating at home but i don’t want to have to relearn what i already know on the ice.

Hey Cole! Though these have a more ice like the performance they are still training rollerblades and feel different. Definitely would cut down on the to a point, but not 100% or even 80% if you are having trouble relearning the feel. I feel it would really come down to how much you are off ice compared to on ice.

I think they are a great training tool for players that feel like they aren't getting enough skating in or can't get to the rink that much.

@@DuPrawPowerskating thanks for the reply but I still have a question. I’m looking for new roller blades/skates and have the money to buy them. Are they good for a former hockey player who may or may not go back to ice hockey or roller hockey. I’m sorry if that sounds rude I’m just specifying, it’s kinda my thing lol.

@@mrfunni1858 they have two styles... the pair I shared was their training skates... they are a bit heavier than their roller hockey-playing skates... you can adjust the rocker for training purposes..... so I'd say yes they are a great skate. The actual roller for game play chasis are much lighter.

*Yes, similar to a hockey boot, but the ankle notch they added gives you more forward ankle lean.*
