@5:34 I never caught it before but when Em says “Cmon dog!” someone says “You were supposed to be on that song” and everyone laughs. I only now realized that whoever that was, was finishing the line from “Girls” which is what this interview is about, but the song hadn’t released yet. We were witnessing an inside joke moment by D12. Made me appreciate the moment in a way.

The music awards line is a reference to when he had his iconic performance at the EmTV music awards , he performed The Real Slim Shady, and they line where he mentioned sitting next to Carson Daily and Fred Durst. He dapped Carson but Fred was sitting directly behind Carson and extended his hand but Em looked at him and ignored him and kept it moving. They both had aisle seats so it's not like it could have been an accident by Em to miss Fred reaching out.

The line "that wasn't an accident, I didn't mean to give you a play at the music awards" was a reference to the time em performed the real slim shady live at the MTV awards. Sure Eminem doesn't sound as complex and refined as he does now but don't get it twisted, this was the time when Eminem was at his most dangerous. Nowadays Eminem writes more intricate, lyrical and less direct, in the early 2000s he'd go straight for your neck, Eminems best diss records came from this era.

Much Music would have been the Canadian equivalent to MTV and the Rap City series were the closest thing we had to BET 😂😂😂😂. This is the channel we'd turn to for all music and especially for rap/hip hop. Crazy! So long ago! Like 20 years ago I think.. man... I'm old 😪 And as always great reaction, Stevie. 💞
