The running back class in the 2024 NFL Draft has the favorites to be RB1, but USC's Marshawn Lloyd has a ceiling that could challenge for the top spot. We go through the film here and look at the burst, highs and lows of processing, reactive athleticism and lateral skill set.

Haven't seen a RB with feet like this since Barry Sanders left the game. If that offensive line is half as good as he needs. The Packers are going to have a very deep running back room🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

The comp I keep coming away with is DeAngelo Williams, but the caveat is the ball security. If he improves that, he can reach that ceiling comp.

I love the addition of Lloyd to pair with Jacobs. We all saw how the offense struggled when Aaron Jones was out, missing his big play ability. Play action was far more effective with him in there. Now we have two RBs that are dual threat play makers with some juice. I am super excited to see this high caliber one two punch. Go Pack Go!

You called it. I can’t WAIT to see this as a Packers fan. Opposing defenses don’t get a break! From Jacobs to Lloyd? And with a hopefully motivated Dillon (provided he makes it) batting clean-up? We loved Aaron Jones, but what we have now can be more consistent due to having consistent presence on the field. The play action, with the receiving threats that we have, might be invincible!

Nice job packers. Get that o line tight, and it's on all day. Jacob's & Lloyd, same thing. There will be no rest for the defense. Solid choice. We're going to wear the defenses. Down field will be wide open. With the recievers we have and the runners we have along with the tight ends we have. I'm Love ing it.

Not pleased to see GB spending draft capital at RB after paying Jacobs a boat load of cash! That said he was the 4th RB picked in the 2024 draft class. Looks to have allot of upside. Round 3 ideal time to find a premium RB in the draft exactly what the Packers did in 2024. Still don't like spending capital on RB with other needs & Jacobs getting the monster contract. That said I think the Packers did very well with this pick. Hope he can be the #1 RB back soon. I am not a big fan of Josh Jacobs. I could see the Packers walking away after only 1 season. So having some insurance in case Jacobs is a bust seems like a good move for this team. With Dillion & Wilson still in the fold this room should be very solid for the Packers in 2024. Go Pack Go!
@JakeSchyvinckNFL
@JakeSchyvinckNFL 22 күн бұрын
From what I've read, the Jacobs contract is essentially one year with incentives, and that full value of the deal might not end up happening. So, in case Jacobs doesn't find it this year, it's insurance like you said. If Lloyd cleans up ball security issues, he can be very good.
@omergaudetjrpackers4life
@omergaudetjrpackers4life 22 күн бұрын
@@JakeSchyvinckNFL Yes Gutey front loaded the contract. Very little guaranteed money after year one. Jacobs bet on himself and took the big number. Gutey left an exit door in case he looks like he did last season! If this guy can fix the ball security issues as you said he looks like a very nice pick. Mike Whale said in his review he often made mistakes late in carries trying to make something out of nothing. With good coaching that should change. Develop quickly he could end up RB1 by seasons end. Biggest question is can he catch the ball. What I've read so far is he didn't get much opportunity to do so in college. That will change with Matt you know. Now if only we can teach Matt to run the ball on 1st downs! Could be the best 1-2 backfield in football if Jacobs is as good as many say he is. Not sold yet me.

Josh Jacobs only ran a 4.64, and had a vertical jump of 35" at his Pro Day workout. Marshawn Lloyd ran a 4.46, and had a vertical jump of 36" at the NFL Combine. At the NFL Combine, Marshawn Lloyd benched 25 x 225 lbs, while J. Jacobs didn't bother with it. I wouldn't call Marshawn Lloyd,"less powerful".

@@SokemRokemRobot I'm talking in terms of running style: Jacobs runs behind his pads more than Lloyd currently does, bench has nothing to do with it (Brandon Jacobs only did 19 reps and he's more a power back than either).

i cannot believe you think you know more about Jordan Morgan than The Packers do . You're wrong about Jordan . They drafted him because he is our LT of the next 10 years + . How you see it is not how they see it and come camp its just gonna piss you off when he proves you very wrong . Walker gave up 6 sacks 35 pressures last season. He is not the answer there.

I think Jordan is solid but we had BETTER OPTIONS AT THAT PICK… that’s my only Issue!!! Barton for instance can play ALL 5 spots on the OL at a HIGH LEVEL and with an extremely high RAS at each spot! Dejean would also have been a great pickup…. Brings the bears have THREE #1 WR’s and the Vikings have the best WR in the league and another great one in Addison PLUS hockenson at TE and now Jones!!! Yet we did NOTHING to address our run stopping issues or add a quality corner to that room!!!

@@andyadams7806 I was for DeJean being the first Packers pick, but after watching Javon Bullard, I think he'll do better at safety than DeJean. As for Graham Barton and Jordan Morgan, both are very similar. But Barton missed the last 4 games in 2023, including the bowl game, because of a lower body injury, and then he missed the NFL Combine. According to NFLDraftBuzz, J. Morgan is a better pass and run blocker. Barton is already being projected as an NFL center, while J. Morgan might be placed at LT right away.
