More like the missing piece in world football's biggest midfield generation since Iniesta or maybe even Zidane. He's such a special generational talent I haven't seen before. As much as I like and respect the other young midfielders like De Jong, Valverde, Camavinga, Havertz, Zaniolo or Foden I think Ødegaard is really the top of the top.

No player is consistent when they are as young as he still is....neither was Messi. Why should he be worthelss in 2-3 years?? How stupid to say. He will only get better the older he gets and the more experience he gets. How long he has played in La Liga has nothing to do with his talent. Everyone start from scratch one time. He came to La Liga this season and has played amazing. What more can he do? You have no knowledge obviously. Ødegaard isnt someone who just gives up if he doesn’t play as much as he would like....he have proven that hasnt he? He works everyday to be better. He is the first at the training field and the last to go home. He even trains on his own. He is dedicated like no other. Some of the talents who has flopped has been satisfied with where they were and the money they got...and didnt want to work for it. Thats not Ødegaard. He wants to be better each day so he can play football with the best. He doesn’t play because of money, he plays because he loves it. Ødegaard comes from a country (Norway) where football isnt exactly what they are most known for and it isnt the biggest sport there, so he has had to worrk twice as hard since he was little.

@brasileiros Silva Not consistent enough. Dunno what football you are watching. He is rated as the fifth best play in the La Liga so far this season. Where he is neck and neck with Casemiro and Suarez. If anything, he has been super consistent this season so far. But I do agree with "he should stay two full seasons at Real Sociedad".

i just love that no matter how tight the opponents mark him he always finds a way out. If u watch his matches closely u can see that his opponents always marks him tightly, when i saw him play for Norway the other team marked him like he was Messi and he still found a way out, specially against spain and sweeden. Watch his team mates instead of him. As soon as the ball gets anywhere near him they start their runs immediately because they know he'll see them and find a way to get them the ball. That's how you know how good he actually is. The other players know and you can see it. No hesitation anywhere because of his presence in the middle. He reminds me of Pirlo.

In stead of Isco? If anything, he'll be a direct replacement to Modric, and he would come with the added bonus of being able to slot in comfortably on the wings if necessary. You can't put a player with his level of talent and consistency on the bench. He's simply not a "squad player".

The thing is he wont really fit into real. His style of play just dose not suit him. In my opinion i think he will do better if he goes to Barca he will fit in perfectly and can support Suarez with his amazing through balls plus with Barca’s style he will have room to dribble in the midfield and since busquets is getting old when he retires Odegaard will be the perfect replacement.

All I see is someone who can turn because of a good low center of gravity and shimmy defenders. At best he is mediocre, probably the most overhyped footballing talent ever. He only looks good because defense in the modern game is pathetic. Half of the players give up and have no defensive IQ, they should at least attempt a tackle. But I guess they cant if all players do is collapse to the ground.
