I played almost every day with Martin Kabrhel in the late 1990s in Prague at the Aleks casino on Wenceslas Square. They were "famous" tournaments with a buy-in of 100-200 dollars :D. It must be said that Martin's table manners have not changed. He was still talking, he won almost everything he participated in back then and he also managed to recommend to everyone what we did wrong. So he managed for free to teach us how to play better. He's a poker genius who doesn't need to cheat.

@@jasonreuvers2189 Here in the Czech Republic we are of legal age at 18 . From this age we can go to casinos and drink alcohol. I'm not sure if it was 1999 or 2000. It's been a long time ago. Martin was much thinner, still dressed in black, and unpopular with the players due to his talkative and aggressive demeanor. But to call him a fraud for no reason is certainly pathetic.

So happy for Brewer. Great player, who has suffered some tough beats and got a well deserved win. He handled Kabrhel brilliantly. Kabrhel is obviously annoying and his antics are incredibly frustrating. But poker of late has become this arena full of people needing to explain to others why they are 'monsters' and need to be better. Kabrhel's at work and he's hustling and trying to gain an edge to mitigate his lesser skill level so he can earn, support himself and his family. Not condoning or condemning it. Just explaining it. And that's the approach a lot of people take to for-profit, commercial work. I think Brewer understands that and as a result handled it with ease. Dan Smith and the like are so far removed that they think everyone should approach their work just like them. Learn from Brewer. Handle it, don't let him get in your head, trust the tourney regulators to do their job, use your skill advantage. And shut him up on the felt.

I watched the whole final table and he sure was entertaining, but boy, he'd be annoying if you were playing with him. Gotta have super focus ignore skills for this one. I liked how Chris Brewer coped with him, wry smirk, and putting up with his 'team' antics and joking about. It worked if the final outcome was anything to go by. Nice result - always great to watch when your fave pick for the table goes on to win.

The game isn't only about getting great cards or outplaying them. There is a serious mental aspect to the game. If he didn't mark the cards, then this is genius gameplay by tilting the better players. Smith is BY FAR the best player at the table. Why not try to tilt him into 6th? When Smith went out, he could have turned his hand over and anyone folds 10/6, so clearly no cheating.

If it's a choice between Dan Smith at a table VS Martin, from a spectator's point of view it's Martin all day every day

but would you want him at your table? he is very entertaining when cut up into a 25min video, but its ~18-20hrs of him taking full 30s for every decision and talking at people nonstop.

There is nothing wrong with what Martin is doing. He is getting inside the other players heads and it’s working. Poker is a mind game just as luck/skill. This just exposes the thin skin players.

It's more than that simplistic answer. He's acting like an idiot. He's used up the usefulness of his shtick. It's come to a head. He's going to have to change the behavior, or he will have so many unwilling to play with him, that venues will not want him. Doesn't matter if people should be more thick skinned in your opinion. He has to act decent, or he'll be done.

@@haynej3 it was less than 8BB to call and he closed the action. One of my most memorable and profitable hands ever was a 10/6s hand in the BB against 2 people, one with QAo and the other had QKo, they made 10s full of queens and I had quads. I stacked both of them. It was only 1/2 cash game ;but was a $1800 pot by the river.
