A back to back comparison of a 2009 Martin M36 and a 1973 Martin D35 by Jon Lowry from Unspoken. Thanks to Zach Smith for letting me take the D35 home for a week.

Nice comparison. The M-36 sounds excellent. Also the D-35 has a truss rod in the neck. It's just non adjustable. Martin changed over to adjustable truss rods in 1985. Thanks for the video.

Very good and thanks for the comparison. I own M36 reimagined but still kind of keep sneaking on D35 and D41 ;)

M-36 is one of my favorite

Cool comparison, thanks! I’d be a happy man if I had an M-36, a D-18, or both! My uncle has a D-35 from 1974, probably still the single best sounding guitar I’ve heard 💪❤️

I've had both. Prefer the M-36. More comfortable to play . And it still has great bass response, something the D-35 is known for. I mostly flatpick and play bluegrass and fiddle tunes.

Sounds like dead ass strings that have no luster to me.
@jonlowry9591 Жыл бұрын
Ha, yes, those strings are probably at least 2 years old and very dead.

M36 needs new strings
@jonlowry9591 Жыл бұрын
Definitely. Those strings on it are probably at least two years old. I’ve been using it to record old folk fingerpicking stuff that I don’t want to have that modern sounding sparkle. It’s getting pretty dead sounding though.

@@jonlowry9591Special sound. The Nick Drake method 🤔 !

The are disparate and therefore no reason to compare.
