Martin McGuinness whatever he may or may not have done was an absolutely essential figure to the Peace Process. And he was the only person who would have carried the bulk of the Provisional Irish Republican Army membership to disarm and stand down .Martin McGuinness had the respect of the PIRA because he did what he said he'd do . Like it or not his passing was a grievous loss for those reasons

Nolan almost looks in awe of McGuiness towards at the end of the interview, he realised McGuiness willing to go the extra mile which he did go skillfully without upsetting majority of his own voters, no mean feat.

Martin was a great Irish patriot who stood up to colonialist and Unionist terrorism that occupied his country. Sadly gone 4 years today. RIP MG X

And thanks to him, Adams and Sinn Fein in General they got rid of BA, Ruc. They achieved power sharing, removed the gun from Irish politics. Dublin now has say and we are 10 times closer to a new just Ireland where all are equal and one day London will be out

The Troubles were a time of shear horror for the people of Northern Ireland, Martin and others from all sides have worked tirelessly toward reconciliation, it's not easy work because it is a huge open wound, and it will take years of toil from all concerned to heal that wound, but this kind of negative interview technique is not conducive to this end, reconciliation is a hard road to the future, but the people truly deserve a strong peace which will be hard won but so worth it

@Irish Essex Boy My friend, nobody butchered more Catholics than Republican death squads. Sad but true.

How sorry are you? What a terrible question. 50%? There is no answer to that question. Actions speak louder than words and it’s never been more true than today

Yes I agree, whatever you think of Stephen Nolan and as a Catholic from Derry city i actually like the big man. And yes he gets tore into the DUP regularly hence the reason they boycotted his shows for over a year.

I can't believe Nolan's conduct and negative, and antagonistic interviewing technique here. A joke!
