This is why we don't see the likes of Martin O'Neil as a regular Pundit on TV. An Intellectual who knows about the game inside and out, instead of these Muppets who are pre-scripted to be biased on TV and want him to give "Pie and Mash" answers. Peter Schmeichel was another, I remember during EURO 2004, he was slated in the opening match when he said Greece had a good chance of beating Portugal, he was also ridiculed for other predictions that came true in the end. He didn't just make the statements either, he studied the players and the way the teams played and explained in depth trying to educate people about the game in depth, I think as a result of trying to bring an intellectual side to the game in their analysis, it was seen as boring and against the media narrative and you hardly see them now on TV. Funny how Gary Neville et al try to be all intellectual now, but you know they are talking utter shite and are kissing arses. For me Martin O'Neil, Peter Schmeichel and Roy Keane are the best TV "Pundits" I don't really like to call them that as they aren't filled up with shite like the rest of them.
