An outtake/blooper from the Martin Lawrence show. Martin is simply being stupid and dumb when he can't help but sing Montell Jordan's 'This is how we do it'. He keeps on singing a part in the song where it goes, 'GOTTA GET YA GROOVE ON!' Hilarious outtake!

I was at this taping!!! I was a senior in high school. I remember Montell Jordan had just dropped that single. At the taping, there was a dj who would hype the crowd. He played that as the last song. Martin kept saying how much he liked "you gotta gotcha groove on" part of the song. Also, there was someone in the crowd that yelled out "grandma sweater" Martin tore him a new one. But there is a line close to the end where Martin talks about his grandmas sweater. Thank you for sharing. This took me back to that day

Actually the reason they said it was BECAUSE of this but yes they did say it. I remember watching the rest of this footage years ago and the song was playing on set that's why they brought the song up..

@stryfetc1 Martin played all through the 90s like it was new. there was nothing different about seeing it when it first came out compared to later. it was drilled in our heads before we even realized shaping our senses of humor and who we became. thats different than being awestruck. we were influenced. so to say we couldn't have appreciated martin growing up in the 90s is absurd bucko

Here in June 2020! 😂😂😂😂😂 just watched this episode chilling with the fam! Had to put my family on this show for this reason alone! It was just done so well, the chemistry was perfect (before everything happened during the 5th season). This will forever be my favorite show ever!

I just really wish that they would have shown all the times he had did it. He did about 6 or seven different times. Pam and Tommy also did it when they opened the door. In regards to the "Grandma sweater" to clarify. There was a guy in the audience who kept yelling out during the taping. So they had to stop several times. Martin singled out the guy and they went back and forth. Martin pointed out his ugly sweater and told him to go home and return that sweater back to his grandma. So, close to the end of the episode when they are pulling "girlfriends" hair out of the couch he tells Gina, "we can knit a sweater with this" we all knew he was talking about homeboy in the audience...we were rollin.
